Scotland's Disgrace
The Politicizer ^ | August 23 | Conor Rogers

Posted on 08/25/2009 10:21:17 AM PDT by FMoran

He killed 270 people. He spent a mere 11 days in person for each of the men, women and children he killed.

Suggesting that compassion should supersede the severity of an attack is ridiculous and could warrant an entire essay of rebuttal, but the more egregious error (and insult) here is that a man who murdered 270 innocent people in mid-air over Lockerbie, Scotland in December 1988 has been released by Scotland on “compassionate grounds” because he is stricken with prostate cancer. Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi may have prostate cancer, he may want to return to Libya to see his family before he dies, but how can anyone even consider treating a mass-murderer like Megrahi with even an ounce of compassion. He is a terrorist who killed hundreds of people. His victims, unlike Megrahi, will never see their families again. Unlike Meghrahi, who is able to return home for Ramadan, none of the 270 victims made it home to see their families that holiday season.

It is bewildering, shocking and should be considered embarrassing for Scotland and the United Kingdom that only four years after terrorists waged war on London’s streets and subways killing dozens of commuters, the nation has released a man accused of doing the very same on a grander scale.

It’s not about compassion. And it’s not about justice, obviously. It’s about politics, money, trade, and energy.

The guy they convicted might well have been a patsy from the beginning.

Great Britain isn’t so great anymore since they have let their country become overrun with Muslims and their Sharia laws. And lest we boast, the U.S. is following close behind.

“This is what many Americans warn about when they caution the world from falling back into a “September 10th mentality.” He is a child killing terrorist that fact does not change whether or not he has prostate cancer. He ripped lives apart, stole husbands from their wives, children from their parents, and grandparents from their grandkids that may never know them.”
It’s a mockery of the rule of law not to have the death penalty.
It would prevent having to make these heart wrenching, compassionate choices.
But, too many politicians are probably afraid for their own necks!

BUT, BUT are we not going to let the terrorist killers out from Gitmo? And have we not given freedom to killer terrorist Bill Ayers and his killer wife Bernardine Dohrn who by the way are the people who are pushing for the CIA to be dissolved. Has this country gone to the Terrorist??????? If one is from Chicago I guess so.

He spent a mere 11 days in person...

How about "Prison?"

Still an outrage.

Let’s give all the Gitmo detainees prostate cancer and let them go.

“The guy they convicted might well have been a patsy from the beginning.”

Except that “patsies” don't generally get heroes welcomes. He was a terrorist who is a hero to his fellow terrorists. Libya is a nation of terrorists.

What the heck. His victims were mostly American...183, I believe, and Obama’s suggesting euthanasia for a great many more than a mere 183. (And I’m not even mentioning his disgusting stand on abortion.) As we speak, he and She Who Must be Obeyed are vacationing on the Vineyard for a mere $35,000 a week, while the rest of the country worries about keep a roof over their heads and a modicum of heat in their houses come Nov..

Hmmm, haven't we released dozens (hundreds?) of Gitmo detainees who were picked up on various battlefields? None were mass murderers to the extent Megrahi was, but to what advantage did we release them?
