Thanks for reminding me what a nincompoop McCain is. So which Dems does McCain plan to parley with? The public-option left or the no-public-option blue dogs? Let them fight it out and STFU.
Feeling like “we have to do something” is the root of GOP stupidity.
1. They can point out that states can have their own, independent, not one-size-fits-all programs if they want to - something like "States are laboratories of democracy - don't nationalize our health care!"
Don't let Federal government bankrupt your state with Universal Health Care... ... when you can do that to your own state yourself!
2. Where is at least one "shadow Senator" who would run in the primaries against John McCain and would criticize and make known McCain's votes, initiatives and ideas (or lack of them) and provide his own, opposite or more constructive views? It's a great way for someone(s) to gain visibility and credibility and "political capital" without spending a lot of money, and become a go-to person and serious opponent in the primary and/or general election.
Every elected RINO and/or "conservative Democrat" in conservative states and districts should have at least one "shadow Representative" or "shadow Senator" to be ready to take on those who do not serve constituents' interests and put their feet to the fire of scrutiny, so they can't get away with being duplicitous - one person in D.C., another at home. And that's how constituents will know who really deserves their vote in the primaries and general elections.
If Arizona / McCain doesn't have a "shadow Senator" by now, then when? ... and in that case, is not all of this really just "full of sound of fury, signifying nothing"?
