Coicindentally, just yesterday we went to our first funeral at a National Cemetery (Riverside, in CA). Military Honors and all......first time I'd seen that also.
Quite a place.....I wanted to go to their Medal of Honor Pavilion - since I knew Mitchell Paige, who's buried there - but there was some huge traffic clogging event in that area.

Any sitting or former senator is eligible for burial at Arlington Cemetery, but Kennedy’s military service alone does not qualify him for burial there since he did not retire from the Armed Forces.
I am not sure this is accurate. I think honorable military service is required even for a sitting or former senator. A president or former president is eligible without military service however.

Now, just how did “John-John” and his wife rate a burial at sea aboard a United States warship? Seriously.
