I’m hearing a very credible rumor that Leon Panetta has dispatched a resignation letter to Barack Obama on vacation.
Panetta is said to be extremely angry about the possible prosecution of CIA officers doing their job and has decided to resign in protest.
The rumor is unconfirmed, but given the sourcing I think it is safe to treat it credibly.
If this is true then I have utmost respect for the man - even though his politics are repugnant to me he will have shown incredible courage and integrity by resigning over the Holder witch hunt.

Hmmm - if true my opinion of Panetta just rose considerably. Knowing the Messiah though he’ll probably appoint one of Holder’s best buddies and let them rip the agency completely to shreds.
Panetta has a shred of honor.
Not enough bad stuff can happen to the motherhuggers who want to make America more vulnerable.
If Leon Panetta has a shred of honor and decency left, he will leave CIA pronto. At least he would have a chance of salvaging some respectability.

I’m just hoping this whole Obama/Holder mess is the impetus that finally gets the CIA back on our side.
This rumor started about a week ago with one intel guy ( retired I believe) saying that he was sure Leon wouldn’t be there at the end of the year.
Another one bites the dust....

I was never impressed with Leon Panetta but if this rumor turns out to be factual, I would have to rethink that assessment. Funny how being on the ‘inside’ (of the CIA) can change one’s attitude.
