PUBLIC OPINION OF OBAMA HEALTH PLAN AS BAD OR WORSE AS CLINTON PLAN IN 1994

Alexandria, VA, August 26, 2009 – New national survey data released today by Public Opinion Strategies shows the country’s opinion of President Obama’s health care plan is virtually the same as that measured for President Clinton’s plan in 1994.

“This data is highly problematic for the President and clearly demonstrates the struggle President Obama faces as he tries to sell his health care plan to Americans.” said Bill McInturff, co‑founder and partner of Public Opinion Strategies.

The survey, conducted August 11‑13, provides some revealing points of comparison for public opinion today versus June of 1994:

President Clinton’s Plan (June 1994)

67% Familiar with the plan

23% Favor the plan 35% Oppose the plan 42% Have no opinion

52% "The more I hear about the plan the less I like it" 34% "The more I hear about the plan the more I like it"

President Obama’s Plan (August 2009) 64% Familiar with the plan

25% Favor the plan 37% Oppose the plan 37% Have no opinion

49% "The more I hear about the plan the less I like it" 38% "The more I hear about the plan the more I like it"

OK, more numbers...the Kos kids are touting some AARP poll that says something about 75% of people support a public option 'for those that can't afford it.' But it's asked in such a way, 'would you support helping those who cannot afford insurance...blah, blah'...which has nothing whatsoever to do with this 1017 page socialist power grab...that's what those Kos Kids can't seem to get through their thick skulls, and if they do, it's because they actually WANT socialism - despite the MYRIAD lessons in history.

Not only should all Freepers stay out of AARP, they should make sure none of their friends, neighbors, co-workers, and relatives stay out but also get all the people they also know to avoid that organization.
AARP is the blind trying to lead the old.

Zer0care totally sucks. I want what he gets, in spite of what he is trying to do to our Nation. If it is not the same, then freaking forget it. End of story. Ditto what the folks on Capital Hill get. One for all and all for one, except the illegal immigrants. They get the real zero. What the hell, I don't expect anything from their home countries, as don't pay for that, like they don't pay for ours.

End of story, morning Glory!

PUBLIC OPINION OF OBAMA HEALTH PLAN AS BAD OR WORSE AS CLINTON PLAN IN 1994

Hmmmm. Seems a little wordy. Let's tighten that up a bit...

PUBLIC OPINION OF OBAMA HEALTH PLAN AS BAD OR WORSE AS THAN CLINTON PLAN IN 1994

There... Much better!

And please remind your friends that after the Clinton plan was laid out, things went nuts. First plans went thru the roof, then we had very high employee costs plus co -pays. Employers shifted hiring to part time staff to reduce their costs. With Ocare, employers will hafta simply terminate employees to reduce costs. I remember this very very clearly. Clinton’s ideas started this mess.

And those KOS kids are smart about health scare tactics, but they really should ask someone who knows;

Mayo Refocuses Debate On Health Reform[Specifically, Mayo Reiterated Against The “Public Option”]

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2325086/posts

Mayo supports changes that would require Americans to purchase health insurance, provide sliding-scale subsidies to help those in need to buy insurance, prohibit pre-existing condition exclusions, define a minimum health benefit package or actuarial equivalent, and adjust risk levels among enrollees.

Mayo recommends an individual mandate where people can buy insurance through employers, on the individual market, through exchanges, through co-operatives, or through a model like the Federal Employees Health Benefit Plan.

And the AARP poll is worded to suggest you can keep your own insurance. The public option would be only for those who can’t afford one.

Misleading.

I don’t know what seniors have against death panels. ACORN has all sorts of posthumous activities for them, like, for example, voting.

Problem is that this time there is no organized opposition. These townhalls have been great, but the GOP is sitting on its hands hoping all of this will amount to change in November. That is far from certain.
