Q: What Would Mary Jo Kopechne Have Thought of Ted's Career? (revulsion alert)
National Review Online ^ | 08/27/09 | Mark Hemingway

HuffPo answers:

We don't know how much Kennedy was affected by her death, or what she'd have thought about arguably being a catalyst for the most successful Senate career in history. What we don't know, as always, could fill a Metrodome.

Still, ignorance doesn't preclude a right to wonder. So it doesn't automatically make someone (aka, me) a Limbaugh-loving, aerial-wolf-hunting NRA troll for asking what Mary Jo Kopechne would have had to say about Ted's death, and what she'd have thought of the life and career that are being (rightfully) heralded.

Who knows — maybe she'd feel it was worth it.

Mary Jo was one of Bobby Kennedy’s boiler room girls, who ran his campaign.

She was a party girl who went to one party too much. drinking the Kennedy Kool-Ade, she devoted her life to getting them elected.

The whole Chappaquiddick affair remains shrouded in mystery. Why was Teddy never seen by anyone with wet hair or clothes, as if he had never been in the water. I have always considered this to be a distinct possibility.

That being said,Mary Jo was a victim; of either a callous disregard for life that allowed her to drown, or she was victim of a murder. To cover up something, or ruin Teddy’s career.

May she rest in peace.

I believe that her death was NOT an accident.

I believe that T.K. got her Pregnant. Instead of facing the truth and honesty of what he had done and lose his career, reputation and marriage, he beat her unconscious, drove the car off the bridge (with no guardrails) and fabricated his alibi.

I also suspect he never even got wet. Why else would he wait until the next day to even report it? I will ALWAYS believe he murdered Mary Jo to save his pathetic hide. After all, he was a Kennedy. And, needless to say, may he rot in Hell for his countless lies and sociopathic ways.
