Obama Girls Fly Under the Radar -- but How Long Will It Last?
ABC News ^ | Maria Puente

Sasha and Malia Obama have avoided the spotlight thus far, but public interest in them is growing.

Could there be two luckier tweens in all of America than Malia and Sasha Obama?

The Jonas Brothers and Beyoncé sing for them. They get to meet the pope, the queen and Harry Potter. They get personal tours of the Eiffel Tower, the Kremlin, the Sistine Chapel, the Tower of London. They go to the best ice-cream parlor in Rome and make their own gelato. They have visited Yellowstone's Old Faithful and the Grand Canyon, gone whitewater rafting and picked peaches in Colorado. This week, they're relaxing at Martha's Vineyard, where the rich and famous and presidential while away their summers.

They've been having a grand time since arriving in the White House, mostly out of the public eye. So far.

President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are trying to make their daughters' experience in the White House as educational and broadening as possible, taking them along on trips this summer with expressly didactic intentions.

"I want to teach them that Italy isn't just pizza," Michelle remarked in Rome in July during an official visit in which she and the girls toured the Eternal City's ancient sites, such as the Pantheon, the Colisseum and the Vatican's St. Peter's Basilica.

I would like to see the kids live a quiet secluded life. I have no beef with them. Unless they are paraded out there on the public stage by their parents or make political statements with their clothes.

Yes....teach them what your former pastor said: They were rich, white people that persecuted God's colored son.

indylindy: “The parents aren’t black, they are commie red thru and thru.”

Naw, I don’t think their commies. They act more like gangsters who steal from others then distribute the loot to their gang (unions, environmentalists, etc).

I thought ordinary Americans were the ignorant ones?

Just hand them a copy of The Agony And The Ecstasy, Michelle.

Cheers!

What a confused message these girls are getting. They see their mother doing photo ops in homeless kitchens and a coop garden at the WhiteHouse but hordes of staff handling the actual work and everything else. THeir parents are setting an example of do as I say, not as I do. Those poor kids. I hope they grow up learning to be accountable and responsible citizens, and not another member of the limousine liberal elitist class.

I’m not taking that bait.”

BINGO and ditto that!

That’s true, the kids are really living the high life, but they are still minors being dragged around by the one. If they were adults and living large on my dime, yeah I’d be pissed. ozero and his wife act as if they are owed this lifestyle. Just shows who they are. My kids don’t even come close to what their girls get to experience, but I would bet a big pile of cash that they are a lot happier. And my kids are not stuck with a last name that is an insult to this country. For that part, I pity the ozero girls.

Their parents are teaching them that Harry Potter is good and going to Church is bad.

I don’t care one way or the other what the girls do, say, wear, or whatever. They are kids. However, I do care when their parents are giving them world tours and having celebs pay visits all on my dime.

It has nothing to do with the kids, it’s their parents wrapping them in leftie billboards and hanging them out like bait. Obama has no qualms about throwing them under the bus and blaming his “enemies” for the resulting carnage.
It could well backfire because the great rallying cry of the left has been “It’s for the children”.

Now if someone will just tie the accumulating deficit to “It’s for the Children”...

I think the odds are against them. This whole thing is reminiscent of the Kennedy thing -- you can be self-centered, self-indulgent, arrogant, and pampered, but so long as you go through the occasional motion of "service to others", all your sins will be forgiven.

This stuff rots the very soul.

Back when Obama was a Senator a Repub. (cant remember who) said If Obama spent our tax $$$ like he spent his own $$$ (referring to what a tight azz Obama was when betting in poker games with the boys) he would be a fiscally responsible politician.

I will never forget that.
Now he is spending $$$ like Micheal Jackson on a Holiday.

And yall were upset when Hill and Bill toke some token items from the White House when they left.

Wait till these two goobers leave.

And regarding the kids. The eldest daughter is getting so TALL.

Also ya never know how kids will rebel.
Could be two future Conservative gals who find Mom and Dads politics unbearable.
