I think this is a CYA situation.

If they stop now and say we are going to have VERY public hearings (without astro turf) then the elected politicians have cover.

HOWEVER THIS IS NOT ABOUT HEALTHCARE. Webb is trying to save his posterior. Obama is trying to divide and break up the USA.

Obama needs a divided country.

Obama needs an angry country.

Obama needs the USA to burn...

Virginia is having an election for governor. His side is losing. Therefore, he is only trying to pull some bacon out of the fire with those remarks.

That is a good assessment.

Obama likes division. He is the Ultimate Divider.

it was red hot when filed having been drafted by a socialist organization with little input from Congress.

It has been a rare oddity that during August, it became clear the protesters knew more about HR3200 than did their Congress persons. The elected officials all seemed to be speaking from the same summary of the bill, which is wrong and apparently prepared by either the Speakers office or the WH.

If that doesn't heat up the discussion then shame on us!!!

“THIS IS NOT ABOUT HEALTHCARE.”

Amen to that. Our ELECTED ‘lawmakers’ didn’t even WRITE this bill!
What in GOD’S name are we doing even CONSIDERING such a piece of legislation???

After all the YEARS of both parties condemning ‘special interest’ groups involvement in DC, we now have those VERY groups WRITING OUR LEGISLATION?!?!?!

Time to THROW THE BUMS OUT!!! EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM.

BS, do away with the whole bill. Make a new bill for tort reform and another new bill that allows insurance to be sold across state lines. Find a way to overhaul Medicare and Medicaid programs, preferably phasing them out over a long period of time.

In other words get the Government out of health care, do not pass this monstrousity no matter what is put into it or taken out of it. The temp won't drop as long as they try to pass an unconstitutional bill, and any health reform bill is unconstitutional. Ditto the taking over GM and Chrysler and the firing of a CEO of a private company by the government, all unconstitutional and Bozo should already have impeachment proceedings filed against him.

Webb has not scheduled any town hall gatherings with constituents to discuss health care because he doesn't believe they're necessary.

He is a coward, as is my Rep., Glenn Nye.

Reps. Wittman, Scott to both hold town halls

At least these two are holding meetings.

"There’s something really creepy about this guy!"

Reagan thought so too. That is why he was fired from his post as Secretary of the Navy. The only accomplishment he boasts about is making sure that David Robinson the Basketball Star, served out his military obligation before becoming a Professional Basketball player for the NBA.

He still can't come to accept the fact that Oliver North once defeated him in a boxing match while they were in the U.S. Naval Academy.

Virginia made a mistake.

The problems today with angry people shouting at each other during community forums around the country and the confusion over what might be included in any health care overhaul have their roots in the Obama administration's failure to present a specific framework for reforms, he said. Instead, the president has left to Congress the task of creating a proposal. "We've got five different committees bubbling up legislation, and it's all supposed to come together," Webb said, but none of the panels have had Washington hearings in recent months.

So there are 'panels' after all.

Right... Liberals are on dead center and won't budge. The whole thing is a house of cards and will not withstand ANY scrutiny.... Even supporters don't/can't quote from the bill or properly and consistently answer simple questions about it.

““My thought right now is to slow this down,” the Virginia Democrat said. “Open it up.”

It’s already open, you dummy!

You lost.

No incumbants, period.

We have to show who’s in charge and some good will have to go with the bad I’m afraid.

Then we might get some quality in the gov. again instaed of the sh!t we have now.

From your lips to God’s ears. He is a gutless wonder (I know, I know, he was in Nam...*sigh*) who refuses to meet with his constituents because he isn’t up for re-election for a few years yet and thinks we will forget all about this. He met in Norfolk with “friendly” Chamber of Commerce people then had a softball interview with local press. Before that he was conducting foreign diplomacy in Singapore and such (Where was Hill?) yet never scheduled meetings with his constituents. He needs to GO!!!!!

Wrong, Jimmy-boy.

This debate has only defrosted. You want REAL heat, as in white-hot fury? Then I dare you to pass this inhuman monstrosity. And do what you Dhimmicrats do best: cheat. If you can't get 51 votes via a simple majority, then change the rules to benefit yourselves. You scumbags do it all the time and are shameless about it.
