And what do you do with all those opinions? (In my early days on FR, I actually believed you wanted an answer... I quickly learned that was not the case.) Anyway, have a nice weekend!

I don’t blame God, I just hold Him, as creator of all things, ultimately responsible for all.

I’m not done collecting opinions. Besides, why should I do anything with them? I learn a lot about people by asking questions like I do, and it’s just one of the things I happen to enjoy doing.

Looks like he has a pretty good shot at it

By any definition Garrido is clearly insane. That doesn't mean he should be allowed to live.

There are two possibilities:

1. He will always be insane. If that is the case, then he will be a clear and present danger to the world as long as he lives anywhere in it. He should therefore be executed as a matter of societal self-defense.

2. Someday he will regain his sanity. There is very little chance of this, but it is a remote possibility. No sane man could ever live with the horror of what he has done. The only merciful thing to do is to execute him while he is still insane.

I love my dog. If my dog got rabies I would feel really bad about it, but I would still take it outside and shoot it. I don't think Garrido deserves any better treatment.

When I read this, I closed my office door and sobbed.

I can not comprehend the sorrow that family suffered.

I'm so happy the family, now broken, has her back but those years are gone forever and scars have disfigured their lives permanently. I wish them so much happiness ahead, many, many years.

I understand. It's just that I believe God should not get the blame for something He did not cause. This was a choice made by someone. The woman did unjustly suffer for this decision, but it most certainly is not something God wanted. Could He have prevented it? Sure, He could have intervened, but at some level God chooses not to truncate the free will of man. We live in a fallen world and we suffer the consequences of that. One day this will all be made right. I hope you will be ready for that day.

Be careful not to blame God for the evil in this world. Satan is responsible. But his day of reckoning is coming, thank God.

It would warm my hart to take a .45 shoot him between the eyes and watch both eyeballs bug out.

I fully agree. I am struck by the fact that, under SHARIA law, HE would go unpunished, but the victim would be killed!

I believe that God created satan, and knew everything that was going to happen. Blame and holding responsible, I don’t think, are the same.

There should be two targets - one on him and one on his wife.
