(NECN: Dorchester, Mass.) - The reigning Republican leader as the party's 2008 presidential nominee, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), joined those speaking at the memorial service for Senator Edward M. Kennedy -- a Democrat.
Sen. McCain has lauded Kennedy's bipartisan efforts and, in death, labeled him as "irreplacable" in the United States Senate.
"He was the most reliable, the most prepared and the most persistent member of the Senate. He took the long view -- he never gave up," Sen. McCain said. "He taught me to be a better senator."
When the Senate resumes following its summer recess on after Labor Day, Sen. McCain said he will try harder to apply the lessons taught him by Sen. Kennedy.

Even more reason to vote the senile RINO out.

If Kennedy had kept his hands off McCain, Johnny might have been a great senator. So it was Kennedy that ruined him! Brainwashed by the Kennedy’s.

It occurs to me that without knowing it Mr. McCain has clearly and succinctly revealed the huge gulf that separates the average voter from those who have been positions of power for too long. It takes an entirely different kind of person to get along in the halls of DC from what it does to make a go of it out here in the real world. And that is exactly why we are correct when we tell them they are out of touch. And it's not just politicians. As much as I love Rushbo I have to smile when he insists to a caller that he's not out of touch. BS. There is NOTHING in the life of John McCain or Rush Limbaugh that comes even close to my day-to-day life.
And this is precisely why it's so important that politicians not be allowed to stay in the same office year after year, term after term, decade after decade. They are completely insulated from life in the real world. Rush has no idea what it's like to whip into a gas station and fill up the tank, or in today's world pump as much as you can afford pending next payday. When his Mac doesn't behave himself he can mention it on the air and get the attention of the top officers of the company. How long since he stood in line at the grocery store and had to wait while someone goes and checks the cost of an item not recognized by the POS (the point-of-sale, POS. Not the other one!)
But I digress! The point is that the skills and personality traits it takes to get along in Congress are far different from those it takes to get along in today's world. I have no doubt John McCain found Ted Kennedy good company and felt he was a man of his word. In their world they're two peas in a pod.
McCain and 49 other Senators need to have an internship in middle America. Hopefully we can turn many of them loose next year to start their lessons in real life America!

A brief self-summary of why you aren't President today, Senator McCain.
In order to complete the resume', why don't you drive Megan off the bridge...???
Help us, Arizona! Retire this man. Now.
