On the way home from the last game of the season, last year one of my daughter's teammates was in a wreck. Just blocks from the softball field a guy ran a red light and hit her side of the car. Crushing her arm which had to be amputated halfway between her wrist and elbow.
Everyone thought that was going to be the end of her softball playing, instead, she was back this year and played one handed. She has also taken up soccer and is phenomenal at it. Not bad for a 12 year old girl.
