U.S. Says Pakistan Altered Missiles Sold for Defense

WASHINGTON — The United States has accused Pakistan of illegally modifying American-made missiles to expand its capability to strike land targets, a potential threat to India, according to senior administration and Congressional officials.

The charge, which set off a new outbreak of tensions between the United States and Pakistan, was made in an unpublicized diplomatic protest in late June to Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani and other top Pakistani officials.

So let me get this straight. They are creating threats to India and Obama wants to give them billions in aid.

So did Bush. We need Pakistan whole and healthy - if we abandon that "nation", the only question is whether the Chinese or the Taliban take it over first. The problem is that Pakistan's leadership is fixated on India, even while the Taliban they created eats them away from the inside.

The entire reason for Pakistan's existence is Muslim refusal to accept a post-colonial India that isn't controlled by Muslims. If they ever have to admit that India isn't their main problem, they'll also have to face existential questions about why Pakistan exists at all. And Pakistan's defense and intelligence leadership will never do that.

Unfortunately, this is just one of many foreign crisis that are going to occur during this Presidency...all because of his attitudes toward America and the rest of the world.
