I believe He did this for people of FAITH, not “marginal people”
I'm pretty sure Matthew, the tax collector, and his notorious friends, were NOT people of Faith. Nevertheless, Christ dined with them, despite the shocked sensibilities of the “righteous”! His response to them is well-known:
“Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.... I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
Jesus has *No favorites* he loves us all equally, he left us with a message to love one another as he has loved us..
There was once a time when everyone could afford healthcare, when the Doctors would come to your home and look after you....Jesus spoke of doing good deeds and that
people un-willing to work should not eat.
Immorality, greed, selfishness,vanity, gluttony is why we have a multitude of social problems...
When we valued GOD more than *Stuff* and material wealth we all could afford the necessities of life...
If people made *GOD* the focal point of there life, they would have healthcare, in fact most people would not need the Government for anything IMHO...

Jesus is teaching us that we are not to be anxious about tomorrow; we are to trust Him. He is teaching us to look to the Father, who takes care of the lesser things in His kingdom; therefore, how much more will He take care of the greater...
