Culturally, much of Texas is already dominated by Mexico. I was just out shopping last week, and 80% of the people at the local Academy sports store were speaking Spanish. Texas is being bred and immigrated out of its former culture.
Now, granted this only fits part of Texas, but its a big part. Houston and south of Houston is pretty much Mexico now, with a few pockets here and there. But it won't be Texas joining Mexico. The Mexicans here would rather have their own TexMex country than join up with the scumbags that run the country they left.

There is a lot of activity on state sovereignty, but that needs to be stepped up. My own state (MA) is hopeless, but the good folks in TX and other patriotic states will have to lead the way in opposition to a tyrannical federal government. This really can’t be done by individual homeowners — it needs to become a regional struggle for freedom.

Yep! Tough times maybe, but Americans...for all of their apparent softness...endure. One only needs to look at WWII to see the truth.
All of those "soft" Americans storming the beaches at Normandy and island hopping in the Pacific...storming the beaches.
We Americans may like our comforts, but we love our freedom and nation more...at least the vast majority of us do.

While the U.S. population has a large number of lemmings we also have a large number of people willing to take action to preserve what we have and splitting is definitely not the answer.Great point. Americans have an independent streak that won't be quelled.

Our only hope to avoid a bloodbath and horrific civil war in Texas would be to enlist the Hispanics here.. Make them love Texas over Mexico. We are outnumbered now. (but not outgunned).

I can guaran-dang-tee that Texas won’t be taken, dominated, or ruled over by anyone, including the federal government of the U.S. We simply won’t allow it.
We will fight. We will not fold. We will stand first. We may even stand alone, but we will stand.

He foresees the U.S. breaking up into six different parts, roughly along lines similar to those of 1865 during the Civil War, The Pacific coast, with its growing Chinese population; the South, with its Hispanics; Texas, where independence movements are on the rise; the Atlantic coast, with its distinct and separate mentality; five of the poorer central states with their large Native American populations; and the northern states, where the influence from Canada is strong, according to Panarin.
This is a joke right. I mean we may break up, but California will become part of Mexico, not China. And the former confederate states going to Mexico. No way the boys down in Alabama and Georgia are going to let that happen. The south may rise again, but it won't be so that it can become part of Mexico.
And Native Americans taking over Nevada, Arizona & New Mexico. Dude has to stop watching old westerns, there just aren't that many Indians out there, and they are not that independent minded. Now those states may go to Mexico.
I do think a collapse is coming. But it is going to be the city people against the country people. There won't be the clean geographic splits as there were in 1861. It will be the rest of Michigan against Detroit over welfare payments, Arizona, Nevada and agricultural CA against LA for water rights. Upstate New York against New York City over electricity. In each case a low population area has some resource that a high population area needs, but is no longer able to trade for. The high population area will try to seize the asset, the low population area will cut it off.

Total crap...and the fool is the one running around like Chicken Little yelling about the end of the world.
Only a wussy gives up without a fight.
We're in for tough times, maybe, but this scenario is pure bravo sierra.

I wonder how Kentucky, where I just bought acreage, fits in. No Hispanic population to speak of. I think you may have just not seen them yet. We had a Glenmary Missioner from Kentucky speak at our parish a few years ago about the need for outreach to them. He was particularly arrogant and condescending. One line from his whiny little homily was "Hispanic? Panic!" Glenmary was already off my contribution list due to the article in their magazine about posting sentries outside Masses attended by illegals, but he made sure they'd never get back on.

Bullsh*t.
The U.S. won’t collapse. It may slide down into obscurity while fragmenting along liberal/Conservative lines, but it will not disintegrate like the USSR did.
Wishful thinking on the professor’s part.

My Hispanic wife and three Hispanic children join me in disagreeing with you (in a friendly sort of way). I've lived in El Paso and Dallas for over a dozen years in each locale.
My in-laws, a huge Hispanic family (10 kids, 20+ grandkids) are as Texan as you can get. They are as conservative as you and I, particularly on cultural issues.
The reconquista acolytes are few and far between, and LaRaza and MalDef don't have any clout with the younger generation.
Texas will be just fine.
