Same-sex marriages begin in Vermont (Barf Alert!)
Seattle Times ^ | 09/01/09 | John Curran

After 17 years together, Bill Slimback and Bob Sullivan couldn't wait another minute to get married. So they didn't. With Vermont's new law allowing same-sex marriage only a minute old, they tied the knot in a midnight ceremony at a rustic lodge, becoming one of the first couples to legally wed under a law that took effect at midnight Monday. Dressed in suits, saying their vows under a large wall-mounted moose head, the two Whitehall, N.Y., men promised their love, exchanged rings and held hands during a modest 17-minute ceremony. Moose Meadow Lodge co-owner Greg Trulson, who's also a Justice of the Peace, presided. "It feels wonderful," said Slimback, 38, an out-of-work Teamster who is taking Sullivan's last name as his own. "It's a day I've been long waiting for, and a day I truly honestly thought would never come." Slimback said he and Sullivan, 41, have long wanted to cement their relationship with a wedding, but since they couldn't legally marry in New York they chose to wed even before Vermont's gay marriage era officially dawned.

Perhaps it’s now time for a really big helping of Ben & Jerry’s newest flavor: “Hubby, Hubby.”

Geesh.

Good thing for the queers that adultery isn’t crime any more. Seeing the promiscuity amongst them I give these “marriages” odds of about 1 in 20.

Look for the divorce listing not too long from now. Marriage is total anathema to the gay lifestyle of free sex, anonymous sex, anytime, anywhere, with any guy, any way you can. And if you get a bug even better, you’re the ‘real thing’.

Great pic!

Can somebody photoshop pictures of our nation's political, religious, financial and social “leadership” into the basket?

Funny how there aren't many stories about "gay divorces". There have been many in Massachusetts. I was informed of one in particular where the two women were like these two guys and couldn't wait to have a wedding days after it was "declared legal" in 2003...happy happy, joy joy. They had a bloody divorce a couple years later and sadly there were little children that had been dragged into that mess. Narcissism, pure and simple..."look at us, look at us".

What a pathetic farce in a land once defined by the legacy of Ethan Allen & his Green Mountain patriots.

I do not want to be cruel, but in rational Law, a marriage that can never be consummated by a procreational act is void ab initio. This "marriage" is an oxymoron.

What really happened:

After 17 years of depraved sexual perversity, Bill Slimback and Bob Sullivan would rather not get married. So they didn’t. Instead, taking advantage of Vermont’s new make-believe-marriage law only a minute old, they engaged in a disgusting display at a rustic lodge, becoming two of the first sodomites to scoff at marriage by pretend-marrying under a law that took effect at midnight Monday. Dressed in suits, the two Whitehall, N.Y., reprobates promised to continue their debased, abhorrent conduct - even going so far in their charade as exchanging rings and holding hands, thus shamelessly ridiculing the custom between those who are actually getting married.

The lesbian couple with the blended name “Goodridge”, who were the lead plaintiffs in the Mass. court cases on homosexual marriage, are divorced. That fact is not widely publicized. They had a daughter together.
