Good point, but how many people do you honestly think will start shooting if the order is made to turn in their guns?
History has shown, not many do. Most turn them in, a few hide them. Few if any start shooting. And if they do, the state forces quickly kill them.
And yes, I believe that most cops and a good portion of the military would just follow orders.
I have a few cash for clunkers I keep around for just such a contingency...
