Here in New York Off Track Betting is on the verge of bankruptcy so there will soon be plenty of bureaucrats available to staff the new National Health Service.

Just because they can’t run a successful bookie operation doesn’t meant they can’t be trusted with life-and-death medical decisions.

Those without coverage or whose plans don't meet the new federal standards would face tax penalties.

Unless they are illegal aliens. Other provisions of law would kick in then, such as the disabling of government inquiry into their status.

"extend tax relief to everyone who purchases private health insurance"

I'd change that to:

extend tax relief to everyone who sells private health insurance. Stimulate supply, not demand.
