WH, Dept of Education Revise Language on Students Outlining How they Can “Help the President"
ABC News ^ | September 02, 2009 | Jake Tapper and Sunlen Miller

In an acknowledgment that the Department of Education provided lesson plans written somewhat inartfully, surrounding the President Obama’s speech to students next Tuesday, the White House today announced that it had rewritten one of the sections in question.

President Obama will talk to students from Pre K thru 12th grade about personal responsibility and the importance of staying in school, White House aides said.

As one of the preparatory materials for teachers provided by the Department of Education, students had been asked to, "Write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president. “

Today, after Republicans accused the White House of trying to indoctrinate school children with liberal propaganda the White House and the Department of Education changed the section to now read, "Write letters to themselves about how they can achieve their short‐term and long‐term education goals.”

I think this will take his poll numbers further down the toilet. Looking forward to the reports on how many kids skipped out.

Next up: very major building in every American city will have to have a huge painting or banner exhibiting a photo of Dear Leader.

It’s not too far fetched, especially if you consider the streets of Chicago after the election.

I doubt they are trying to imitate the Nazis. They probably have Cuba or the German Democratic Republic in mind as a model to be imitated.

Probably an acceptable response would be "I will e-mail the White House and tell them what Daddy is saying about President Obama."

Just because they took down that fishy@whitehouse.gov link doesn't mean they won't create another one which won't get as much attention.

I find it kind of " Fishy " that they had to revise the wording after a lot of people caught wind of this scheme and plan to indoctrinate the school children on September 8 th
But, it's too late, they got caught.

Well thank goodness they rewrote the questions that were so inocuous, now they’re just going to ask a 4k and k student to write their long term and short term goals for education. That’s just dandy. :?/

Either they were so arrogant that they thought nobody would notice, or they are so arrogant that they thought nobody could possibly object to partisan indoctrination and promotion of a Maoist cult of personality. Either way, they are just arrogant.
