ObamaCare as a Continually-Growing Benevolent Despotism
Entitlement Syndrome ^ | 09/02/2009 | Scott Michaels

Posted on 09/02/2009 7:13:07 PM PDT by BigKahuna

Is it just me, or is the way this whole cult of personality thing going on with our current President beginning to really take on the characteristics of a type of benevolent despotism on the part of our federal government?

ObamaCare -- and this creepy new gag, where Barack Obama will be beamed September 8th into the classrooms of all our children -- seems to be the latest manifestation of this phenomenon. First, there was a 787 billion dollar stimulus that doesn't seem to be stimulating much other than a ton of equally-creepy "Your Obama Stimulus Dollars at Work" road signs, though as Mark Steyn observed, there doesn't seem to be anything resembling actual work being done.

Then, we have an elected chief executive in government (Obama) going out and firing another chief executive not in government, this one from an auto company. And though I'm not a defender of the ways in which two of the three domestic auto manufacturers ran their businesses over the years, I'm also not a fan of a single person -- president or not -- deciding who in a corporation stays and who goes. Add in the 10 billion dollar payoff to the predominant labor union in those companies, and you have to start to wonder...

… And that's why Barack Obama's effort to impose such benevolent, for-our-own-good, "new government" is ultimately doomed to failure. This certainly seems to be happening much more swiftly than I'd imagined would be the case, I must admit. Polls say that Democrat (and especially the President's) popularity and support for their positions is sinking faster than the Titanic did on that fateful April night nearly 100 years ago.

So keep up the good work, folks. Your efforts aren't going unnoticed…and they’ll get the message soon enough.

They all start out benevolent and then, soon enough, it’s “reeducation camps” and spying on your neighbors. Hey! They already want us to spy on our friends and such!! YIKES!!

No arguing with that. I don’t mind helping immigrants, as long as they came here legally. Back in the early 90s, when I was stationed out at Camp Pendleton, there was a case where a man and woman snuck over from TJ to have their octuplets in California in order to use MediCal, which was free for them.

It ended up costing the state over a quarter of a million dollars for care, and all eight kids were automatic citizens and all 10 (the kids plus the parents) got to stay and were put up in paid-for housing and everything else.

Man...if that ain’t taking advantage of American generosity I don’t know what is.

Despotism yes, benevolent no.

Conserve/Conservative
To protect from loss or harm; preserve: calls to conserve our national heritage in the face of bewildering change.
disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., OR to restore traditional ones, and to limit change.

-to prevent injury, decay, waste, or loss of: Conserve your strength for the race. - to use or manage (natural resources) wisely; preserve; save
-To economize
a preservative.

Freedom is a very jealous mistress. To possess her, we must reject her longtime competitor; slavery to governmental intrusion.

Lady Liberty will not accept a divided allegiance, and freedom comes as a package deal

So, let’s analyze the basic forms of government. They are, Monarchy or Dictatorship ruled by one, Oligarchy ruled by a few, Democracy ruled by the majority, Republic ruled by law, and Anarchy which is ruled by no one

These calculating anarchist work to break down the existing government with rioting, killing, looting, and terrorism. Tragically, the people living in such chaos often go to those best able to put an end to it and beg them to take over and restore order. Who is best able to put an end to the chaos, the very people who started it? The anarchist who created the problem then creates a government run by them, an Oligarchy, where they have total power. This is exactly what happened in Russia that led to Lenin taking total power and in Germany where Hitler’s Brown Shirts created the chaos that brought him to power.

Democracy - majority opinion rules.

What about Republic? Well that comes from the Latin, Res, meaning thing and Publica, meaning public. It means the public thing, the law. A true Republic is one where the government is limited by law leaving the people alone.

Many Americans would be surprised to learn that the word Democracy does not appear in the Declaration of Independence or the U. S. Constitution. Nor does it appear in any of the Constitutions of the fifty states. The founders did everything they could to keep us from having a Democracy.
In every case, they ended up with mob rule then anarchy and finally tyranny under an Oligarchy.

When government power grows peoples’ freedom recedes.

Benevolent -goodwill, kindly feelings, humane

Despot
1. a king or other ruler with absolute, unlimited power; autocrat.
2. any tyrant or oppressor.

Despotism-ruled by a tyrant or oppressor

Benevolent?? WTF?

Whats benevolent about breaching the IRS Privacy barrier and making personal tax and wealth information available to the HMOs and Feeral Agencies who collect unpaid ,not based on sevices rendered, but based on what you earn. The more you earn, the higher your medical bill. That is benevolent. Its thuggish thievery!!!!Punish those who work hard?

People , you need to thnk real hard about Obama benevolence. He doesn’t have a benevelent bone n his body. WHat he wants is socail and economic control over the lives of Americans. That way he can silence his opposition, and usher in a tyrannical Utopia that only his lefties want. America does NOT want it.

Read and Weep:

‘‘(v) such other information as is prescribed by the Secretary by regulation as might indicate whether the taxpayer is eligible for such affordability credits (and the amount thereof), and
