The passing of the 'great' senator from Massachusetts has prompted me to compose the following chart. Please feel free to suggest additions:
THINGS DEMOCRATS CAN GET AWAY WITH
Vehicular homicide -- Sen Edward Kennedy
Tax evasion -- most Democrats in Congress, most of Bambi's cabinet
Perjury, sex in the oval office, Filegate, Travelgate, Memogate, "suicide" of Vince Foster (to name a few) -- the Clintons
Burning people alive because of quirky religious beliefs -- AG Janet Reno
Stealing from the National Archives -- Sandy Berger
Firing Justice Dept attorneys -- AG Eric Holder
THINGS REPUBLICANS CANNOT GET AWAY WITH
Saying the wrong thing at a birthday party -- Sen Trent Lott
Misspelling "potato" -- VP Dan Quayle
Being a conservative woman from Alaska who knows how to hold a rifle -- Gov Sara Palin
Being too hard on terrorists -- GW Bush
Firing Justice Dept attorneys -- AG Roberto Gonzalez
Using an airport restroom -- Sen Larry Craig
Again -- please feel free to add suggestions.
Whores versus prostitutes.
Toe tapping near the border of one’s stall?
Hey, where’s the “Independents” section? hm...
Dont forget Newt Gingrich, and why he was removed from his speakership, versus all of the income tax evaders now leading the house, senate, and administration cabinet positions.
The chart should represent the number of days that the news story dominated main stream media. If possible, the number of major news print publications that published an article condemning the action should also be represented.
Sounds like a LOT of work and research, but it would be oh so useful.
I believe there is an organization which has already done a majority of the research.... what was it? there may be more than one.
RATS
GOP
You can interrupt a Senate hearing and still be a patriot. Conservative grandmoms who just jeer at Representatives are called domestic terrorists.
You can also jam through funding for "art" that insults American values. If you try to get funding for this...
they'll call you insensitive.
I think the problem is worse than you say. Does anyone on this forum think a Republican chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee who was discovered to have avoided or “forgot” to pay their taxes would get the free pass Charlie Rangel has gotten?
Add to that the fact Rangel wants to impose stiff new penalites on individuals who make far less serious mistakes on their returns.
Don’t forget about LA-William Jeffery(D); GA-Cynthia McKinney(D)....remember what they did to Tom Delay...the hypocracy is astounding.
What happened to Newt was disgraceful. Then House minority leader David Bonior kept filing ethics complaints against Gingrich -- more than 70 in all. Gingrich was exonerated on every one, including the last one for which he paid a $300,000 fine relating to his excellent college course "Renewing American Civilization," which I watched and recorded on (I believe) PBS. He was ultimately cleared on that one too (justifiably so), but never got a refund.
Here's the outrageous story.
Comparing Gingrich to ANY of the corrupt, tax-evading Democrat scumbags in the House or Senate is completely unfair.

Oh... you mean like a double standard?
Yeah.. i think that was the point.
