Why Parents Don't Trust Educator-In-Chief

They think we're crazy. "They" are the sneering defenders of Barack Obama who can't fathom the backlash against the president's nationwide speech to schoolchildren next Tuesday. "We" are parents with eyes wide open to the potential for politicized abuse in America's classrooms.

Ask moms and dads in Farmington, Utah, who discovered this week that their children sat through a Hollywood propaganda video promoting the cult of Obama.

In the clip, a parade of entertainers vow to flush their toilets less, buy hybrid vehicles, end poverty and world hunger, and commit to "service" for "change."

Actress Demi Moore leads the glitterati in a collective promise "to be a servant to our president." Musician Anthony Kiedis pledges "to be of service to Barack Obama."

The campaign commercial crescendos with the stars and starlets asking their audience: "What's your pledge?"

This same "Do Something" ethos infected the U.S. Department of Education teachers guides accompanying the announcement of Obama's speech — until late Wednesday, that is, when the White House removed some of the activist language exhorting students to come up with ways to "help the president."

Education Secretary Arne Duncan had disseminated the material directly to principals across the country — circumventing elected school board members and superintendents now facing neighborhood revolts.

Obama's bureaucrats can whitewash offending language from the Sept. 8 speech-related documents, but they can't remove the taint of left-wing radicalism that informs Obama and his education mentors.

History Lesson

A spokesman maintained that the speech is "about the value of education and the importance of staying in school as part of his effort to dramatically cut the dropout rate." But the historical subtext is far less innocent.

...pledges "to be of service to Barack Obama."

Didn't the Germans do something similar back in the 1930's?

I often said that this country needed a serious wake-up call from its periodic dalliances with leftist “leaders.” I half-jokingly suggested that we needed a dedicated marxist in the White House to rub our noses in the REAL DEAL. We got it with Obama and he may prove to be the best thing that ever happened to the cause of freedom here.

While making that suggestion, my fingers were crossed. On one hand, I feared that the majority of modern-day folk would come to embrace marxist philosophy and practice and America — the IDEA — would come to an end. On the other hand, I held out hope that my fellow citizens would reject this alien ideology and rebel in a demonstrable way. I thank God that the latter is happening as I write this. The anger and outrage are palpable to even the hard-core leftists now infesting the White House. Barring some catastrophe — which malignant Machiavellians like Rahm “A crisis is too good to waste” Emanuel are fully capable of orchestrating — they will be shown the gate at the next election.

But what has puzzled me most through the run-up to this point is (with some notable exceptions of which Dr. Broun is one) — WHERE ARE THE PRINCIPLED MEN — REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS ALIKE — WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN STANDING UP TO THIS GUY?? In order that they might avoid the tough questions inherent in governing this nation, have they shipped so much of THEIR power down Pennsylvania Avenue that they are now AFRAID to reclaim it? Why has it fallen to fellows like Glenn Beck, Boortz and a handful of others to do the job of those we elected to office to guard the Constitution from “...all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC?” They have largely been MIA!

And one final thought as we look forward to replacing the Marxist-in-Chief come 2012: What sort of people have we elected when a small, attractive mother from Alaska has BIGGER CAJONES than the alleged MEN now warming seats and wasting expensive space in the halls of congress?

I’m just asking the question we all should be asking these folks.

If Van Jones is out, then I think this is the next person Glenn Beck will go after.

They don’t trust him because he hasn’t told the truth yet. People also don’t want their kids given brown shirts.....or shirts of any other color and then organized.

Didn't the Germans do something similar back in the 1930's?

March of 2008, Chicago Tribune:

Public boarding schools where homeless children and those from troubledhomes could find the safety and stability to learn are being pursued by Chicago Public Schools officials. Under the plan, still in the nascent stages, the first pilot residentialprogram could open as soon as fall 2009. District officials hope to launchas many as six such schools in the following years, including at least onethat would operate as a year-round school. The proposal puts Chicago at the forefront of urban school reform, ascities struggle to raise the academic achievement of students hampered bydysfunctional homes and other obstacles outside school.

I wonder what those kids in boarding schools will be learning?

Well said.
I often wondered myself about those “principled men”. It is as if they let the media and PTB beat up on the likes of Sarah Palin and most recently Michelle Bachman. Cowards.
