Van Jones, Barack Obama's Green Jobs Czar, verbally attacked police officers at a 'Racial Justice Rally' held in front of the Federal Building in San Francisco in June 2004.
A report by Tiny in Poor Magazine posted at Indymedia's Indybay.org about the rally quotes Van Jones as saying of the police officers watching over the rally, "See those men in ugly blue polyester over there? They all have one thought: 'Obey, obey, obey'."
The report's other quote from Jones is, " "Were gonna fight together and love together and liberate these blue polyester fools too."
The rally itself was a typical leftist agit-prop action against America. It featured a large banner on stage that read, "No Taxes for Torture at Home and Abroad."
An artist named Asiatic whose work appeared on Van Jones' Freedom Fighter Music record label read a poem about "Uncle Sam the Real Terrorist."
The theme of the rally was stated by an organizer:
"We are here to recognize the intense parallel between global oppression and local oppression. Do not forget that the torturers in Iraq were trained in the prison system here, said Mesha Irizarray of the Idriss Stelly Foundation, describing the days purpose.
The rally's theme was similar to the anti-American comments Jones made on a 2003 Freedom Fighters release:
"We see violence against poor people and poor people of color within the U.S. border, at the U.S. border, and beyond the U.S. border and you see U.S. tax dollars funding all of it. And so we have this now global struggle against the U.S. led security apparatus and military agenda that impacts people here and impacts people around the world and I think that we need to see our problems as linked."

A few of the men Van Jones called "blue polyester fools."
bttt
When is Congress going to get some guts, and call The Zero on the radical direction he is taking the country?
Well - even a broken clock is right twice a day.
If only one of the polyester blue had utilized his night stick over this punk puke thug dog’s idiotic communist head for about an hour. . . . This guy is just the Green Gestapo in waiting.
So he hates officers of the law.
What else would anyone really expect?
Jones is the gift that keeps on giving.
Deeper and deeper it gets. When is enough — enough? Any one of a dozen things tied to O would have had ‘them’ clambering for an end to GB.
I’m starting to think you don’t like this guy.
I hope Obama comes out and says, “I could never disown him, any more than I could disown the black community.”
Hooooooooooly crap! I don’t think O wants to be making enemies of all the police officers throughout the country. Who’s going to subjugate the masses then?
I’ve watched a few videos of him speaking and one thing always happens: he cries. He cries in almost every speech he gives. And every time he cries rich elites in the audience throw there hands up-palms to the sky- as if they’re in church.
I consider him to be the Rev. Wright of eco/social justice. He’s the preacher and the worthless elites in the audience are the flock. Very disturbing.
He probably privately calls them pigs, and he probably was happy about the Manson killings at one time too, like Mrs. Ayers was.
Time to bring up the “police acted stupidly” comment again. Heeee heee

“There are a lot of good people out there who are philosophically simpatico with us and are very skilled and would be very valuable to us.”

Obviously, one of the main criterion for selection to work in Obama’s administration is for the candidate to be
PHILOSPOPHICALLY SIMPATICO!!
For those in Rio Linda..
Sympatico: (from the urban dictionary)
‘To share a mental connection or bond with someone, or to have a lot in common with someone.’
So...I guess that means that a communist, racist, cop hating,anti-american, 911 Truther is in perfect sympatico with Obama and his administration.
Go figure.....(eye roll)
Yeah look at his videos, he takes on the “black preacher” air.
So did Obama during his “I don’t wanna hear a lot of talkin’” rant.
I know, I thought of that, but why go out of your way to recruit people to the enemy’s forces?
While I appreciate the often self-sacrificing efforts of LEOs in defense of the civil order, and find both Van Jones’ invective and the notion that his ideas are ‘liberating’ both offensive and absurd, there is something unpleasant about the institutional culture of law-enforcement agencies that his “whose only thought is ‘Obey, Obey Obey’” does capture rather eloquently.
Hatred?
LLS
Wait, I just wrote the history of the Democratic party in ONE SENTENCE!
And the hits just keep a-comin’! BTT.
Applause! :)
kristinn, you’re amazing. :)
No wonder Obama wants his own “citizen” security force; one that’s funded as well as the military.
I’ll be waiting for the after vacation Tuesday howls and calls by the media for Van Jones to resign lol.
All righty then! While officers do have a level of discretion (spirit of the law vs. letter of the law) what do you want these guys to do? Disobey the laws they are sworn to uphold? Make it up as they go? What a load of tripe!
I'm tired of hearing some Freepers castigating all cops for the sins of a minority of cops. No one on this board that I know of supports the cops breaking the laws they are sworn to uphold. Really immature s@%t that mirrors the childish posture of the left.
Sheesh, ‘Blue polyester fools’ that’s it? I’m a cop and I’ve been called worse than that here on FR.
hahahahahaha. I wonder what Van Jones’ FR screen name is?
I wonder if he brought donuts to the rally? And, you know something? I think if this was an FR anti-police thread, there’d be alot of jokes about that smiling cops big belly! And those Nazi-like uni’s their wearing too! Peep that BLACK WEB GEAR boys and girls.
Boy that cop looks like he’s preggers don’t he? Maybe ol’ Van did bring some donuts to the show, hence the police smile. He’s been bought off.. wink, wink.
Just for grins, somebody post that picture of all the cops cars parked in front of the donut shop. That’s a hoot.
No kidding. Van Jones would fit in really well on a lot of threads I've seen lately.
Those boys in #23 look like “baggy Wal-mart winter gear fools.”
It is funny to listen to all of Obama’s zombies calling others zombies and racists. They must have believed Farrakahn when he said black people could not be racist.
That’ll come later. First fire this POS, Van Wilder Jones.
Ok- so when is this guy getting dumped? It’s Saturday evening and no announcements? What are they waiting for?
The difference between Freepers and Van Jones' attitude toward LEOs is that Freepers want LEOs to leave them alone.
Van Jones' want to turn LEO's into thugs.
When Van Jones says 'liberate' what do you think he means?
Which is worse? People who wants cops to leave them alone of people who want to turn cops into thugs?

ACORN, the Black Panthers, La Raza and the new Civilian National Security Force...
No, the problem with the institutional culture of many law enforcement agencies is that it inculcates an attitude in LEOs not of obedience to the law, but of demanding obedience to their office, and their person. The law is circumscribed by the First Amendment, but try exercising your right to freedom of speech to criticize a LEO.
The “serve” in the fairly common motto of local law-enforcement agencies (cf. LAPD’s “To protect and serve”) somehow or other gets lost.
Gee whiz GreyMountain, now I’m getting even more confused.
According to alot of folks here, I am a thug. And a Nazi, etc. etc. And, I think Van wants the police to leave him alone too, at least that’s what I’ve been hearing.
Now, after that spot of fun,
Which is worse? People who want cops to leave them alone or people who want to turn cops into thugs?
That’s a good question. I’m not at the top of either groups party invitations. It’s like turning from AK sights to AR sights, you get shot either way, whether you deserved it or not.
I suppose that what I think is it’s increasingly difficult being a policeman in a society that is breaking down. The State is getting increasingly overbearing and using the police as muscle. Both sides of the spectrum resent the intrusion, justly so, but one side continues to elect tyrannical leaders. I think that soon individual police officers will have to decide which side they are going to be on. Things seem to be deteriorating rather rapidly and the next few years look rather unpleasant to me. Though I believe the outcome is not in doubt.
I have had to reflect, study, pray, prepare and put into practice what I believe as a police officer and an American. Particularly the oaths I took when I joined the Marines and joined the police dept.
I’m participating in Tea Party’s, calling my congressmen and senators, getting together with like-minded officers and individuals. And I’m going to Washington Sept. 12th.
I know which side I’m on. It may sound like I’m tooting my own horn but I’m not. It does bother me that cops get lumped together and painted with the same brush by both sides. No matter what I do or say, it appears that I will be considered ‘suspect’ by both. In the crossfire. I don’t care what the left thinks, they are the enemies of this country.
The ‘friendly fire’ is what bothers me. I just remind myself that I am nothing more than how I stand before the eyes of Almighty God. And keep moving forward.
In the words of Forrest Gump, ‘and that’s all I have to say about that.’
