Washington, DC -- Millions of Americans will be reminded of the pro-woman, pro-life perspective when they take to the streets on Sunday, October 4. That's because thousands of pro-life advocates in cities and towns across the country will be there to share the message with them.

I don’t necessarily object to this. But what if they took the money that this will cost and built a home for unwed mothers? What if they took the money and developed a Christian based mentoring program for young women?
What if they took the money and adopted a baby?

What if they all simply just put boots on the ground so to speak and worked to eliminate the social behavior that causes what they’re protesting?

It’s not a protest, it’s a public prayer witness across the nation. I have led one in my town for 10 years. It doesn’t cost anything. I have 20 signs mounted with PVC pipe that we erect along the busiest thoroughfare. The signs carry a variety of messages. The purpose is to petition God publicly for mercy for the sin of aborion, to ask forgiveness for all of those who have partaken in this crime, to pray that those driving by will reconsider if they are in fact involved in some way to an abortion, past, present, or future, to make the ststement that life is a Constitutional right, to encourage mothers that have had abortions to seek healing (phone numbers are provided), to be a witness to the youth. And other intentions in the human heart.

Wouldn’t it be a good idea for you to join one in your area? Go to http://www.lifechain.net/ to find one.

No, I got your point, but I was giving you a chance to clarify, which you have done. You mentioned using the money, and I told you it doesn’t cost anything. And then you implied that it is an either/or: either you do the charitable action to help mothers & society, or you simply stand on the street with a sign. This is a false dicotomy. The folks out there are precisely the ones doing what you suggested, and much more. You mentioned Christian. Are you one? Then surely you must believe that wherever 2 or more are joined together, there He is in their midst. Do you believe this?

“The folks out there are precisely the ones doing what you suggested, and much more.”

They are? Where?

The ones I see doing what I suggested don’t stand around with signs.

There’s a cost for everything, the money spent on gas, motels, food, sign making supplies, not to mention the dollars spent in extra law enforcement.

As for being a Christian, been one along time. I never found the need to parade up and down with a sign.

In 1995, 1,266 women received help from Pennsylvania’s alternative to abortion services. By 1999, that number had grown to 11,397. Since the program’s inception seven years ago, 57,000 women have been helped by Real Alternatives, another group.

>>>”eliminate the social behavior”<<<

For your edification “HEARTBEAT INTERNATIONAL” is part of a large network nationally that works with pregnant women

All the above are basically manned by volunteers. The same people who volunteer at those services will be out Oct 4 praying at a Life Chain. I know of where I speak.

Yea for Philly. I know what I’m talking about too.

I know lots of those folks that stand in those “Life Chains”. All lip, no service.

Royce Dunn says what has happened in the past,

“He tells LifeNews.com that God certainly abhors abortion but is more upset when Christians don't take a stand for what is right”

>>>”The ones I see doing what I suggested don’t stand around with signs.”<<<

I suppose people might feel more comfortable with signs. Really it is not the messenger but the message that counts.

>>>”There’s a cost for everything, the money spent on gas, motels, food, sign making supplies, not to mention the dollars spent in extra law enforcement.”<<<

I agree I have spent $300.00 on everything so far from my own pocketbook. The signs cost 31 cents each.

We have built in law enforcement. The Police Chief, Mayor and the Councilmen are standing in line with us. In the many years I have been involved not one person has been disorderly.
