Unless you can show how irritating parents across the US is helpful to Obama, I'd have to say that's not likely. More likely is that they saw an opportunity to push their agenda through the "lesson plans" and figured their union teachers would go along for the ride.

The widespread expression of distrust is damaging for O.

The transcript shows a too-long narcissistic speech that includes his tedious self-narrative, the story we hear over and over.

I think, all he needed to do was go on television and say,
“Kids, have a great school year! Learn all that you can.
Be polite and respectful to your teachers and friends.”
The end....

And Mr. President -— never, never come into the classroom
to speak to “our” kids. You can save that speach for your
own kids.
