>>”I would recommend getting rid of the term “fairer sex” because some of us find that a demeaning term.”<<

With all due respect, you’re just going to have to tough it out. That’s how it’s always been and how it will always be. It is a term of endearment when coming from a man. Why do you find it so objectionable?

Yeah, why is that demeaning?
After my years of worldview studies, I immediately spotted this complaint as inspired (corrupted) by the secular humanist (ie, satanic) worldview.

1 Peter 3:7
Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

Yeah, must have been written by an “angry white man”.

That’s why people describe crimes as “mistakes” now. “He meant to go to his locker and get his math book but he raped another student by accident. It’s not his fault. He’s a victim.”.

He took little Susie to the Junior Prom
Excitable boy, they all said
And he raped her and killed her, then he took her home
Excitable boy, they all said
Well, he's just an excitable boy

You raise an important issue by tangent.

One of the current problems in society is these single mothers by design who think “some man” will automatically want to raise her fashion accessory child as if his own as long as the sex is available with the mother before marriage. THEN he will legally adopt the child and be subject to child support if SHE has to divorce him. (...and they are surprised they are still alone.)

My son is writing a paper about the Navy in our homeschool. That would be son #3, son #2 is in the Navy.

The principle meaning of emasculation is castration. I think the author was trying to stay away from the sense that men were being physically emasculated. But you are correct, I don’t think demasculation is even a word.

The reason, to me, is obvious and simple -

the destruction of the role of the male as FATHER,
and the subsequent destruction of the family unit.

So Hoover wasn’t a complete disaster, if he wrote that (even if it was before he was elected).

That’s what a couple years of praying for discernment and an equal amount of time studying worldviews will get you.

Well, what was his problem? If a man wants to learn about domestic violence and women he has to subject himself to violence from women, right? The only way to teach him not to beat women is for women to beat the lesson into him, right? You just have to understand the new paradigm.

Seriously, just as most whites were ready to drop their racist attitudes the black population has decided to become more racist than whites ever were and just about the time men decide to stop beating women the women are deciding to become overbearing, violent hags that no normal man will want to be around because he cannot defend himself without being locked up as the bad guy regardless of what the facts are.

As knowledge increases wisdom disappears. I can no longer stand to watch most television because those who talk like idiots are taken seriously while anyone who speaks wisdom, truth, common sense or whatever you wish to call it is branded an idiot or worse by the mindless chatterers of the left. If the founding fathers rose from the crypt they would pick up their swords and declare war on those who have destroyed what they gave their all to build.

Why?

Because when it’s put like that, “fairer” makes it sound as if women are weaker, which is subject to interpretation, and less important. Women may be “weaker” in certain areas .... but better/stronger than men in others....so would that make men “the fairer sex” in those instances?

p.s. I would recommend getting rid of the term "fairer sex" because some of us find that a demeaning term. Try female gender instead or lovely ladies or ?????

ah, Beachy, it's the traditionalist in me.

Exactly why gay marriage and marijuana are so important to the leftists...

THE QUITTER by Robert Service

When you’re lost in the Wild, and you’re scared as a child,
And Death looks you bang in the eye,
And you’re sore as a boil, it’s according to Hoyle
To cock your revolver and . . . die.
But the Code of a Man says: “Fight all you can,”
And self-dissolution is barred.
In hunger and woe, oh, it’s easy to blow . . .
It’s the hell-served-for-breakfast that’s hard.

“You’re sick of the game!” Well, now, that’s a shame.
You’re young and you’re brave and you’re bright.
“You’ve had a raw deal!” I know — but don’t squeal,
Buck up, do your damnedest, and fight.
It’s the plugging away that will win you the day,
So don’t be a piker, old pard!
Just draw on your grit; it’s so easy to quit:
It’s the keeping-your-chin-up that’s hard.

It’s easy to cry that you’re beaten — and die;
It’s easy to crawfish and crawl;
But to fight and to fight when hope’s out of sight —
Why, that’s the best game of them all!
And though you come out of each gruelling bout,
All broken and beaten and scarred,
Just have one more try — it’s dead easy to die,
It’s the keeping-on-living that’s hard.

1 Peter 3’s interpretation of “weaker vessel” is that you can have a porcelain vase and an old beatup iron pot. Each is intended for different purposes and is best for that purpose. A porcelain vase has superior usage in certain roles, yet no one could argue that it isn’t the “weaker vessel”.

“Fairer sex” is just another way of saying “weaker vessel”.

I stopped in at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Museum in Iowa a few years ago and saw the essay there on a display. I was so impressed, I went to the gift shop and got a piece of paper and copied the essay word for word.
