He was in “Navy SEALs” too. Which was an unintentionally satirical take on Top Gun, but was played straight, and did actually put the SEALs in a more or less good light (though it probably predates his liberalization by a good 10 years).

The guy is the star of the No.1 comedy on television. He is successful whether you like it or not and he has an audience. Argue the credibility of what he has to say. Laughable attempts to degrade the messenger only make us all look silly.
