September 9, 2009 WASHINGTON With President Obama poised to deliver a nationally televised address to a joint session of Congress on health insurance reform Wednesday night, Senator Max Baucus, the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, said that his panel would take up sweeping legislation and start voting on it in two weeks, with or without the support of Republicans.
Mr. Baucus said Wednesday that he very much hoped to win support from Republicans with whom he has been negotiating for months. But he said he firmly intended to mark up a bill the week of Sept. 21.
Irrespective of whether there are any Republicans, I will move forward, Mr. Baucus said after meeting Wednesday with Democrats on the committee. We have to move forward. If there are not any Republicans on board, I will move forward in any event.

They do that, and there will be hell to pay from the voters.

Sounds like famous last words to me...
Guy's a pervert!
You want it? You OWN it — the Stinking Albatross that will clean the House out of all stinkin’ libs for years to come.
Why don’t they just do it? All this talk of “we have the votes, and we will pass it!” is 2 months old. Enough already.
If they want to hand Congress back to the GOP, let them try to force this bill down our throats. Unless they invoke the nuclear option, they won’t have the votes to pass it anyway.
go ahead a pass a bill that penalizes US citzens 3800 for not having health care (except illegal aliens)....2010 is right around the corner.

Hey Max...enjoy trying to find a job in this market. HAHAHA.
Did anyone hear Rush today on the Backus Bill?
There are tax increases after tax increases in this Bill.
It is not a health care Bill, it is a tax increase Bill that willl put small businesses out of business. It will cause more unemployment and put us in a depression.
What are these idiots thinking?
This is what passes for strategy in the DNC. They know the voters are against this, so they are going All In to bluff Republicans into supporting the Dim bill. Then the Dims can lie to voters next Fall and say they wouldn’t have pushed the bill through if a sufficient number of Republicans had not voted for it.
Some Republicans will fall for this. The State Run Media might even cook up some polls showing a 10 to 15 point move after The Speech.
They haven’t read most of it—just will vote yes because the Liberals do that—for the good of the sheeple is the cry.
I heard Rush — the IRS will be put in charge of financing health care! Good Lord. Get an audit AND a rectal exam in one visit.
Heaven help us.
THE IRS needs to focus on Rangel. Want to see some charges.
Other than that, the IRS is in place to harrass and go after the middle class.
They are thinking about the nice trips they'll be able to take on their private jets with all the money flowing into their coffers pockets.
‘A key Senator’ and the New York Times...
Wow, first time this type of tag team has ever been used. /s
I’ll use my requisite response, ‘yeah, this and twenty-five cents might get you a pack of gum, if the proprietor didn’t toss you out on your ear for insulting them’.
The Times and it’s staff can go to hell.
Didn't General Custer say something along these lines late in his life?
“Didn’t General Custer say something along these lines late in his life?”
Yep...his last words were “look at all those *&^& Indians...”...this idiots last words are going to be “Geez, who knew the voters were paying attention?”
