We'll see. After Obama's speech and the media hype about its "greatness", watch the votes materialize. I was thinking along the same lines. It's all about him now. Praise the Emperor and damn the Republic. [spit]

I'm not watching TOTUS this evening. And I'm keeping my powder dry. All this dysfunctional stuff coming from the Dems makes me wonder if it isn't trying to lessen expectations so that they can later claim "Oh, didn't he do so much better than expected".
Tonight, it's NCIS in this household.

Yeah, its a tactic they use when they want people to give up and stop fighting them. They said the same thing about amnesty for illegals and a number of other issues.

Right, this is the time to re-double and triple our efforts! Let’s run to the finish line!!

Like I said jokingly “Pelosi speaks, and (some) Freepers quiver”. I remember the ‘McCain or die’-ers in December predicted we would be in concentration camps or rice patties by now ,with all conservative media shut down, Right!!!
Lets take and Pelosi and Obama’s positive predictions with a grain of salt.
Obama is BSing right now on TV 8:38pm EST.

Wasn’t Massa the one who said at his town hall that he’d vote for it, despite his constituents obvious opposition, because he had determined it was the right thing to do?
Now he’s saying he won’t support it?

I think you’re missing the point.....by your logic, the Dems would be the ones saying they don’t have the votes. In fact, it is Drudge who compiled public statements by 44 moderate Dems in the house that indicate they will not support the public option. It is not the Dems that are pushing this, but Drudge. I think Drudge may be right, and Pelosi is wrong.
To: Melian
IF IRC, Massa said if he decided this was the right thing to do he would vote for it even if his constituents said no.
I believe he didn’t say at that time what his decision is, just that he wouldn’t be swayed by constituents (yeah, who are THEY, anyway??).
So as of now he’s against it, but remember, that’s got nothing to do with his constituents’ wishes.
(Uh, huh.)
