How did the Federal government get all 50 states to lower their speed limits to 55 back in the 1980s? How did the Federal government get all 50 states to raise the drinking age to 21, and to lower the drunk driving limit to .08?
In the same way, all the Feds have to do is say “if you don’t play along with Obamacare, you won’t get any Federal Highway funds. You won’t get any Federal Education funds. You won’t get any Federal funds at all.
When states are self sufficient and no longer are dependent on Federal dollars, then the 10th amendment will have meaning. Until then, we are living in a Statist paradise.
It would be interesting to see a few States hold back on federal tax payments, if that’s possible.
