I love to tie the emoting morons in a knot with what I like to call the "PETA Paradox". Ingrid Newkirk, IIRC (and others I'm sure) said "a pig is a rat is a dog is a boy", meaning that there is no moral distinction between us and them. But then they go on to argue that this means we shouldn't eat them, harness them, use fur, etc.

But that's a paradox. The "other animal species" eat each other and otherwise compete for resources. If we're nothing more than another species of animal, that argues in favor of our simply doing our best to be the biggest, baddest species on the block, like all the others do.

So they say we're no different, then use that to tell us to behave in a way that doesn't make sense unless we're fundamentally different. They can't even get their own orthodoxy to make coherent sense.
