You are wrong on Mao. Check some of the bios. He genuinely believed his program was working, and every single one of his advisers told him the same thing. They were too afraid to tell him it wasn’t. Ditto Hitler. He really believed he still had the Sixth Army.

Agreed. Krisinn asked me to speak at the FR Tea Party in DC but I had already committed to speak in Nashville. Course, I HATE going to DC anyway.

But that’s what happens when the media begins to become a propaganda arm of the state. Do you think there was any accurate news in the USSR? All the accurate news came from Radio Free Europe, which is why I suggest at the end ultimately after a new “fairness” act is passed Rush may end up on a boat off Key West.

Well, and of course Zero said he was “unaware” of the 2 million people there. That means either he is completely incompetent, in which case he should be removed, or he is a liar, in which case . . . . well, he should be removed.

I don’t think Obama would care, because he has his own project and it has even slipped the reins of the people who put him into power (that would be the Dems).

My point was that they’re not going to say anything that conflicts with his point of view — now already known to them — not because they’re reluctant to give him the truth, but because they’re afraid. Obama’s czars are going to crack down on the Internet and conservative radio soon, and I think the MSM now believes that staying on his good side will be to their benefit.

The reason people didn’t want to bring Mao (or Stalin or Lenin or Hitler) bad news is that they knew that it was going to be “off with their heads.” There are many Obama true-believers in the press, but I think there are probably more who are simply scared of him.

I also think next year’s elections are going to be pivotal, but maybe not in the way most people would think. I get the feeling that those who oppose big government, the liberal agenda and all of those things are willing to trust in elections one more time. I expect there to be huge numbers of people voting to get rid of the current mess of incompetent fools in Congress in November of 2010.

If the elections are fairly counted and the people’s voice is heard, things will be OK. If it is clear and obvious that elections have been stolen (not by a few hundred votes but by tens of thousands) there will be drastic and awful consequences. If the people believe their votes do not count and they are being railroaded by politicians and their minions (of either party) they will have no choice but to resort to violence. Politicians should be duly warned that there are different ways to enforce term limits.

For my money (literally, since we're talking about tax dollars), the next step in the maturity of the Tea Party movement is when it begins to generate candidates for office, starting at the local level.

In Charlotte, it already has. There are a few running for the Republican nods for the four At-Large City Council seats (here, here and here.) Two of them are Charlotte Tea Party organizers.

I have no idea about their chances, but at least two of them seem to be running good campaigns.

I'm wondering if this is already happening elsewhere in the country.
