The suggested health insurance “reform” is just going to cost too much right out of the box, and there is NO mechanism for cost containment other than to pay medical personnel less for their services. A similar plan is in wait for pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply sources, with a great deal of the production moved overseas and beyond the reach of regulatory agencies like FDA.
This hs nothing to do with “racism”, either real or imagined. It has everything to do with access to medical services.
Soon, “medical tourists” may be leaving the US and going to some offshore location where they may get the necessary services at somewhat reasonable costs, because of the extraordinary wait times for similar medical procedures in this country.
Great Britain and Canada already have “medical tourists”, but for now, their destination is right here in the US.
Even Mexico has some degree of “medical tourism”, but a lot of that is driven by the absense of any number of adequate facilities within their own country.
