“Not a cup, a plate, a piece of paper ANYWHERE.”

I’ll affirm! We lingered with another FReeper on 1st Street, between the Capitol and the Capitol Reflecting Pool. We were there long after the crowds had broken up and, in fact, were there when the MPDC was reopening the road. I looked around and there was not ONE piece of paper on the street, the curbs, sidewalks, anywhere except the big waste baskets along the streets.

I worked for years at 6th & Penn, and can affirm also that it was less messy than a normal tourist season day.

Thanks for the verification, EDINVA.

We conservatives are neat people. (At least in public. ;*)

You're right - it was very, very tidy. Trash cans were overflowing, but people made an effort to find extra trashbags or to anchor the overflowing trash to prevent it from blowing around. Great crowd, great day.

I think one of my favorites had to be the sign "Tea Today, Tar Tomorrow".
