Her purse, phone and credit cards were all found in the lab she was working in, at the school b-- NOT at her apartment. I think they were in a desk drawer. This makes sense to me; when I am at school, my stuff is tucked away in a desk drawer.

She had them with her -- my guess is the ghoul who killed her forgot to dispose of them after he got rid of her clothes and body.

AFAIK, the fiance had an ironclad alibi, and was never a suspect at all.

Several of the authorities at the Saturday press conference were smilling and laughing.

What I recall hearing about her purse and cell phone is that they were found in the building she was seen entering. This was reported because if she had left willingly why would she leave them behind? The fiance, if I heard correctly, had taken a polygraph and was cooperating with police and was never a person of interest.

I think the fact that the family has not come out in public is unusual. Normally in missing persons cases, the family is on tv, pleading for the missing person’s return. For whatever reason, this family has been very camera shy.

I am a little perplexed by her leaving her purse behind. Wouldn’t you need some sort of id badge, scanner card, etc. to get into the lab of this academic building? I don’t want to speculate; but, my wheels are turning.

God bless Annie and her family. I cannot imagine how her family and fiance who would have been her husband by now are so devastated. It’s beyond our comprehension.

That said, the MSM was looking for a diversion from the March on DC. Annie went missing Tuesday, but we heard very little until suddenly it was the top story on Saturday.

The ID of the student when it is revealed should be interesting.

Sounds like they’re talking about a crawlspace or maintenance access to water pipes or something similar.

From what I heard, her purse, phone and money were all in her Yale office.

She left them in her office. Just took her ID card with her when she went down the laboratory. I would have done the same thing. I used to manage two testing and quality control labs. I had a cube and desk elsewhere. My purse, etc. stayed in the desk, the ID card on my person. I went back and forth between the labs and my desk constantly. I didn’t always carry my phone either - especially in areas where it didn’t work well, or when I wanted to be able to concentrate on something.

Seems normal enough behavior to me. THe bad guy was in the basement lab. The mystery starts there for me.

I agree. Almost like they knew she was dead and who did it all along.

And the story was completely overblown, people go missing in the inner cities and rural areas all the time and never even get mentioned in regional papers - let alone national coverage. Tragic that this young woman was killed, but using Yale in all the headlines brings viewship. It’s too bad.

I still haven’t heard the explanation for how somebody’s corpse gets “behind a wall” in an already constructed building...

It was in a channel constructed to hold piping and electrical wiring. In the basement, I think. THere is probably an access panel. THe perp, undoubtedly, is someone who knew the building very well, and she was a tiny woman.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Suspended ceiling in a commercial building. Remove a tile and you have access to the “top” of the wall. The sheetrock wallboards usually doesn’t go much higher than the tiles, but there can be a lot of empty space above the tiles depending on the building.

Plenty of room for someone to get a step ladder, remove a tile that is next to a false wall, lift the girl through the opening, and place her between the wallboards. If she was small, and the guy young/big he should be able to do that.

A well designed lab will have service galleys and chases for utilities and plumbing so that installation or movement of equipment doesn’t require extensive work and also leaks and clogged lines are easier to repair.

The Yale and New Haven Police have been screwed up for a long time.

They’re just mean, evil people. How or why they are that way is of no consequence. We just need to know that they are and prosecute/punish them to the full extent...

Yes, the authorities were so cheery at the press conference, it was clear something was up. They were acting like they’d just won the LOTTO. I think they’d found her body, and were trying to manipulate the news to get some reaction from the killer.

After all, 4 days with police dogs in that building where she disappeared, and they still hadn’t found her body? That’s BS. Then suddenly they find it? Gimme a break.
