That would be incredibly stupid.
Citi stock is a penny stock right now. May as well hang onto it for a while. The company is large enough that a few quarters of positive loans should turn it around and then feds could get some upward momentum on the stock.
The feds own what, 7 billion shares? Why let it go at 35B a share when you can probably get 70, 140 or even 280 billion for it in a year or two?
