Political Smackdown: WWE CEO Linda McMahon to Challenge Dodd
The Hill ^ | September 14, 2009 | Aaron Blake

Posted on 09/15/2009 2:07:40 PM PDT by PittsburghAfterDark

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) CEO Linda McMahon appears primed to run for Senate in Connecticut and should make an announcement very soon, according to sources with knowledge of her deliberations.

“A decision is imminent, and she will likely make a decision over the next couple of days,” said a Republican strategist. “It will be made sooner rather than later.”

One well-placed source said McMahon is “99 percent” in. Another said the announcement could come as early as Wednesday.

The second source noted that she has done polling on the race and hired consultants Mike Slanker and Patrick Sullivan. She has also brought on former National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) spokesman Ed Patru to help with early communications.

I want to see how they'll attack a woman that has had everything said about her already on WWF/WWE TV.

Knock the WWE all you want for fake storylines but Vince and Linda took an almost bankrupt wrestling territory to being the sole survivor of the wrestling "wars", the number one draw of live events internationally and a staple of top 10 cable ratings for 25 years.

She's definitely not yet another Yale, Harvard lawyer going to DC to warm a leather seat and raise taxes.

Fact is, the McMahons would run this country and keep it in the black.
They are good business-men, (XFL aside)...

I don't think the head of a company producing trash TV is really a good choice to challenge Dodd. People want someone with a real understanding of the issues we face today.

Will Dodd come from behind and hit her with a metal folding chair?

People want someone with morals, common-sense and competence. Qualities sorely lacking in Congress today...

Don't look to the McMahons for that what with a marriage based solely on convenience. Also, this: Her history of campaign contributions, dating back to 1990, has included both Republicans and Democrats,[22] as she donated to Sen. Joe Lieberman in 2006,[23] and Rahm Emanuel in 2008.[24] She also donated to the Republican Majority for Choice in 2006,[22] a Political Action Committee favoring abortion rights and the 'Big Tent' appeal of the GOP.[25]

XFL got dragged down by the introduction of the scripted “wrestler storylines” to the games... had they stuck with football with the more agressive rules they started with, I think they would have still been around as a smaller AFL type league.

I can hear the McMahons entrance theme beginning to blare as she walks out...”No chance, thats what you got...no chance in hell”.

Jesse is entertaining and right alot, but he’s wayyyy out in outer space sometimes. I’d vote for Kane or Val Venis (both ardent libertarians) before I’d vote for a RINO like Mrs. McMahon.

Unfortunately, Linda McMahon would enable Dodd to grab victory from the jaws of defeat.

Can you say steroids and HGH? I'm sure Dodd's campaign staff could ... repeatedly.

LOL, I'm sure they'll try. And she'll likely laugh at their efforts.

She's definitely not yet another Yale, Harvard lawyer going to DC to warm a leather seat and raise taxes.

Hey, Harvard/Yale lawyers gotta make a living! ;-) - just kidding!

Amen to that! And she's going after Dodd's seat!

The WWE has ALWAYS presented a ANNUAL House’ Show for our troops in Iraq since 2003..

The McMahons have more patriotism than the UFC.
