If anyone is more deserving of the crackpot label, it is Beck (at least at certain times). While he often makes sense, Beck can come across as a rather unstable maudlin, preachy character at times. Paul, on the other hand, has a calm grandfatherly style and rarely appeals to naked emotion.

Beck isn't a crackpot. He is preachy and weepy and does have some annoying mannerisms. He is even wrong at times. I even questioned his character when he was leaning toward supporting that liberal scumbag, Giuliani.

But that’s just Glenn Beck. He isn’t trying to be anyone or anything other than who and what he is. He’s just honest and unashamed of his feelings, and he is trying to use his position to do what is right and good.

He’s the best journalist in the country today.

I agree with you. I’ll add that he seems to lift quite a bit of material from Mark Levin’s book without credit. Does he credit anyone but himself? The blogosphere deserves much of the credit that Beck reaps on himself. He has a high profile to get the stuff out which is great. I find his self-backslapping and dramatics, not to mention his delivery, a real turn off too.
