Private insurance will be squashed. They will be forced to raise premiums, thereby driving out participants and shrinking the pool, which will further increase rates.

The only thing that makes private insurance even a remotely feasible enterprise is the spread of risk. If the gov’t taxes 8% on payrolls that don’t use Obama-care, they will certainly drop private coverage, leading to the above scenario.

Then we’re really eff’d. Instead of some people getting little or no healthcare, we’ll ALL be getting little or no healthcare.

As soon as the government accepted the responsibility of providing this, it would be this much per year within 2 years.

Exactly.

A five page bill could include tort reform and freeing up insurance provider competition by dropping any one state mandates, and giving tax incentives to insurers to expand coverage for pre existing conditions and to mandate necessary identification requirements so illegal aliens will not benefit and cutting out any federal funding for abortions.

Simple and effective.

I am embarassed to be from Montana right now. Actually, the way this state is going, I am embarassed quite frequently.

Sen. Baucus What part of NO do you not understand?
The majority of the American people don’t want Gov. run
health care, period !
Oh, just $856 billion ? Plus the $750 billion bail out that
the American people never wanted and the untold trillions
that all this is going to cost with the “Cap and Trade bill”.
while you and your colleagues at the same time
live in your mansions and enjoy the finest health care that
can be offered at no cost to you. We, the peasants do not like the way the kingdom is being run!

I wish the government would just leave me alone. I send in a g*d-awful amount of taxes in each year and now they will will want/demand even more, then more, and then all.

The hole they are digging may be just too deep to dig out of.

No nation on earth has ever run up a $2,000,000,000,000.00 debt in one year.

The 60s group Tens Year After had this lyric in their song “I'd Love to Change the World”:

“Tax the rich, feed the poor, till there are no rich no more.”

This will be the end result of Obama’s policies, which he thinks is "fair".

That’s a silly question. You should know by now it’s ALL about intent—not results. Commie liberals sleep better “feeling” they tried.

It’s a beautiful state especially up north of Kalispell/Whitefish and also around Seeley Lake.

Too bad about Missoula and Bozeman.

I assume this latest version of the crap sandwich doesn’t include a provision that requires all government employees, current and retired, including members of Congress, the executive and judicial branches to be required to immediately take the “public option”, i.e. move immediately from first class to steerage.

The Kos-hacks are p.o.ed too. They’re urging libertards to flood to Congress phone lines in protest. Looks like they can be useful idiots.
