Me too, stock. Me too. I even bought the ‘Fat Albert’ series for my boys because of the wonderful messages the shows had in them (I grew up watching the show - one of my faves). No more.
He was a Ukrainian emigrant. Mikhail Markhasev.
What would Robert Culp say.
Oh, and ‘The Cosby Show’ my boys love, as well.
Well, what can we expect when we are all racists now, 55% of us.
He is of enough means that he can carry on to date without the need of psychiatric intervention. I would not be surprised to see him totally lose it some day.
People don’t see on purpose. When you are so emotionally invested in an ideal, person, thought, or object, it is hard to look at that critically or rationally. They are completely missing the angle that these people (Cosby, Carter, Pelosi, etc) are also insulting Obama and every other African American by implying (or directly saying) they shouldn’t be treated as equals, instead they have some sort of deficiency and must be given previsions such as not having to deal with criticism or challenges.
There would be no black citizens if not for the Republican Party and its many battles with Democrats for over one hundred years on behalf of blacks. Bill needs to pick up a history book.
Really,how sad.
See post 39.
At that time the local news were talking about a “Ruso.”
Also, articles in FR at that time were talking about a “Russian.” because of that, I did not bother to research it further.
True. I wonder if the day will come when they will start to be insulted by all of this? Or is it just so much better to be a victim?
I recall that Bill’s wife was heavily involved with some radical Black organization long before their son’s tragic death—and she was very outspoken —
Similar to Michelle O....
...’splains alot.
I wonder why people idolize him. In an interview to TV Guide one of the girls on his show said he didn’t like white people (or words to that effect). He also was handing out gifts to kids from his car... but not to the white kids. And in a moment that was caught on camera where he berated blacks for not doing more for themselves and for running around as gang bangers with their pants hanging down , he said “I don’t care what white people think” when someone tried to calm him down. Needless to say the last phrase was stricken from what most networks showed but I caught the original on Fox. Even Fox didn’t show it after the first time.
But I'll never stop listening to "Chicken Heart." As an old-time radio fan with a particular affection for that legendary episode of Lights Out, I'll always love Bill Cosby for paying tribute to that show and episode.
And, for all his early comedy.
And, lament that the real message of The Cosby Show---that you could, you can, you did, and damn the plantation that would keep you dependent---is anything but the message the man for whom Cosby now apologises would prefer his own race, never mind all of us, hear and heed.
I thought that too, until he cheated on his wife.
IIRC Mr. Cosby spoke to blacks taking responsibility for their own actions but I don’t recall him ever saying anything that would improve race relations.
Hey he’s trying to get back with his folk. They disowned him when he said what had to be said. He had to reconsider after he was ostracized.
I thought the election of Barack Hussein 0bama was supposed to be proof and validation that we’re now a post-racial society? What, was I lied to?
Democrats never fail to disappoint.
