“Nonpartisan” should have been in quotes, too.

The whole concept just sounds strange. Msnbc wants your personal, private, and heartwrenching story. For what? To use against the conservatives (if there are any left in the congress.)

That would be an interesting idea. use the same story...just change the name each time. Run that story through about a hundred times until run out of random names.

Let’s start a parallel search for medical horror stories from Canada, Britain, and Scandanavia. I’ve been hearing some REAL horror stories there.

Also, solicit horror stories from the VA and Medicare.

Man...you wouldn’t have to look long at the VA. I’ve had friends treated at the VA...plus, remeber all those stories jus recently about the VA not cleaning the equipment properly - transferring all manner of blood bourne critters.

No, you were watching MSNBC. I lot of people make that mistake.

But Democrats have already pointed to the VA as a sign that socialized medicine WORKS in America. Of course, they overlook the SERVICE provided by those who ARE veterans.

I understand that some of the facilities run by the VA are good. But, from the ones I’ve seen - not so good. I had one friend that had a compensated injury. His private insurance would not cover the injury because the military had accepted responsibility for it. The VA refused treatment because he had private insurance. Took him forever to force the issue. Just to receive treatment for a injury that happened on active duty.

I got one. Here in the land of RomneyCare, one is not ALLOWED to purchase a health insurance policy that does not comply with the arbitrary parameters established by that brilliant group of legislators on Beacon Hill. So we are not allowed to purchase health insurance that does NOT cover prescription drugs, even if you don't want it, or need it. And you are not allowed to purchase Catastrophic Coverage with a high deductible and have an HSA in order to cover, out of pocket, basic medical costs such as physicals, pap smears, mammograms, and meds.

I spent the entire afternoon yesterday, and part of this morning trying to find ANY company that would sell us a non-compliant policy, because we had been told, by a young man who works for the Commonwealth Connector, the agency that handles all purchases of health insurance in the state, that we COULD buy non-compliant insurance, but that we'd have to pay the $900 fine levied by the state on those who don't have health insurance. We were perfectly willing to pay that, since it would be cheaper than paying $4K for drug coverage that we don't need. But, turns out, the young man was wrong. No one sells that type of insurance, because they're trying to follow the state laws!

Welcome to Obamacare, folks. You might be able to 'choose' your health care, but only if the plan is approved by politicians and bureaucrats first.

SuziQ, I read your post and I wonder what has happened to us - Americans. You do not have the right to choose to have or not have insurance. You are being told that you must have and what, precisely, it must cover. What’s next dental insurnace, life insurance (whole/term). At what point do we say no more? In my state you can drive a motorcycle without a helmet, but in your car you are required to use a seat belt. wth is wrong with us?

Well, I want names and faces attached to any “story” that they feature. I had to leave the room during the President’s Healthcare diatribe that he offered last week when he told about “a person with cancer who lost their healthcare because they had neglected to disclose a case of acne when applying for the policy.” Who is this person? Count me a skeptic, but I falt out don’t believe it.
