Harrison Ford said that that scene was spur of the moment. He was fighting the flu (or a real bad cold?) and on that day of filming he was supposed to actually choreograph a fight with the guy but he felt so sick he just pulled out his gun and shot. The other guy played along, everybody laughed, and that’s the way it went into the film.
