Don’t know if you have ever been deployed, but, comm is usually limited and sketchy at best during deployment .
It would not be at all uncommon for a deploying soldier to be out of the communication loop for days while en route to Iraq or Afghanistan.

She can confirm or deny once she’s deployed.

” She can confirm or deny once she’s deployed.”

If and when she has time and access to a computer.
And that’s not a given in remote FOBs in Afghanistan.
And many of them are dial up .
And also assuming she’s not busy otherwise tending to the wounded.
Afghanistan is not Iraq-most of the bases and camps are even more primitive than Iraq.
She’s going to be on duty for long hours-her priority will be her mission.
Her family will be lucky to hear from her , especially in the beginning.
