GREENSBURG, Ind. -Less than a year after starting mass production, the Honda Manufacturing of Indiana plant is announcing the building of Honda Civic Sedans for sale in Mexico and export to 22 Latin American and Caribbean nations and U.S. territories.

The first Civics destined for export were shipped last week. Until now, the more than 50,000 Civics built at the Greensburg plant had been sold exclusively in the United States.

Kinda makes sense if you've seen them.

Ironically, older Honda's from the early 90's are becoming earnestly horded.

I think also Toyota's of that era were built with greater lasting quality and integrity.

The Marysville plant has an interesting history. Honda's first American employees built about a dozen motorcycles every morning, then took them apart each afternoon for inspection.
After Honda was satisfied that US workers could turn out first class quality, a larger investment was made.

Meh, had a lot of experience with a 91 Accord...the new ones are a lot nicer. The newer Civics are nicer than my late 90’s was.

The early 90’s Prelude, now...I’d take that. Well, if it would fit the kids.

I have a pal who clings to his beloved early 90's prelude.

He loves it, it's hot rod red , 289,000 miles and churping along!

So, it is , or was , possible to make a vehicle that could last and be loved for decades?

As opposed to the classic uberwasteful 5-7 year cycle.
