"In the early '70s, breaking out of the domestic cocoon, leaving their mothers' circumscribed lives behind, young women felt exhilarated and bold. But the more women have achieved, the more they seem aggrieved." Maureen Dowd in the New York Times, Sept. 19, 2009.
"Many women are being charged more in health care coverage, but as we all know, women are earning less. We all know that women earn 78 cents on the dollar to every men -- to a man [sic]." Michelle Obama, First Lady

Also, healthcare mentioned. Women MDs are mostly part-time, less than 8 hours a day, and their practice lives are only 8 to 10 years on average...not a good investment by govt., who pay for all the specialty training in the US and control completely the numbers as well. Govt. cut US doctor specialist training slots by 25% in 2000 or 2001 after a trial program in NYState the previous year. We have gotten much less in healthcare delivery since 2000 simply from a suspected growth in the numbers of women in medicine...anybody know the percentage of women in med schools?
Pay “change” is a little misleading.
There’s a big difference in meaning between the amount of change and the amount of pay. So without some reference point of absolute values at a particular time just showing change over time doesn’t translate directly to actual pay.
Point 2, women are charged more for health insurance, because they use more health insurance. Why shouldn't they pay more.
If I owned a company, I'd hire mainly women, which would boost my profits enormously.
That's the trouble with liberals....they don't think things through.
Mrs. Prince of Space
Excellent observation Mrs. Prince of Space!!!
Thus, you spout off about women making only 78 cents for every dollar than men make. Therefore, I care more than you. I care about the plight of women getting underpaid. I'm morally superior to you mean-spirited and possibly evil person, because I CARE MORE than you do.
It is a waste of time using facts with liberals. You have to make them confront their own bias. Make them get outside of themselves and into reality. Unless you can do that, you're wasting your time.
Hell, one time I got a super, touchy-feely, progressive liberal to advocate putting the National Guard in the ghettos of America on every street corner with machine guns, because of the war on drugs. Everyone else immediately agreed, that they guy was nuts.
