Steps towards a nuclear-free world
The Guardian ^ | September 22, 2009

It's good news that President Obama has kicked back the Pentagon's "timid" proposals for a new nuclear posture review in favour of a radical rewrite (Barack Obama ready to slash US nuclear arsenal, 21 September). Breaking out of the "more of the same" approach is key to making progress towards abolition.

It was disappointing, then, to read David Miliband's comments, pushing attention off on to Iran and North Korea, as usual (New nuclear resolve, 21 September). Perhaps this isn't surprising when you consider that the UK's nuclear policy remains the replacement of Trident – a cold war system with no conceivable military use, and irrelevant to our contemporary security needs. But the population has noticed that the world has changed even if the government hasn't – a significant majority now opposes Trident replacement.

A nuclear-free world is a total fantasy. Nuclear technology has proliferated worldwide and nukes are in the possession of rogue nations such as Russia, China, Pakistan, the DRPK, and on the horizon, Iran.

If you wanted to make the world nuclear-free, you would have to destroy every document and computer file containing any shred of data about anything nuclear, destroy the nuclear warheads and their missile delivery systems, along with the data used in their development, kill every nuclear / physics scientist, burn down every nuclear plant and destroy every tool of every nuclear reactor, decommission all nuclear-powered subs and melt them down or scuttle them.

For any country who does not want to give up its nukes, why destroy their nukes if they can hide them?

Also, if nukes are eliminated, then there is still the threat of chem and bio weapons.

A nuclear-free world is a total pipe dream, proving that BHO is the most delusional guy, just like his predecessor Adolf Hitler.

These deep thinkers apparently can’t wrap their heads around the clear fact that there are advantages to the possession of nuclear weapons and that Iran and North Korea appreciate that. Why would they give them up in favor of a “nuclear-free” world?

It can't hurt to try something new. What could possibly go wrong? /moonbat

On the local big city level it’s “We have to get guns off the street”, and we know how that works, they have a strange mindset.

A terrorist event in this country would give these a##hats in washington including zero and his clown posse more than just the worry about the terrorist but more so the firestorm and vengence of the American people.

The day we figure out how to alter the laws of physics (permanently) is the day we can start talking about a nuclear-free world.

But the progressives feel that winning is losing and losing is winning.

Coexist, that’s the ticket.

If America is to survive, progressives must be eliminated.

In my one and only physics class in college a very entertaining professor stated 'you don't need to change the laws of physics, just find the loopholes'.
