At what point does the love of country get over ridden by the lack of support by the CinC
Except job market will keep a lot of them in for awhile possibly. Tough choice risk your life for Zero or no job prospects because of Zero.
And the threat of war to increase.
Kudos for McChrystal...he is doing this to keep our troops safe.
Exactly at the point that you realize that your death will be in vain, and the mission is a failure due to lack of leadership.
Believe me , if my son hadn’t already served (Subs) I would chain him in the backyard before I would allow him to join the military NOW.
It’s not so much having a CiC whose politics you don’t agree with, it’s the feeling that the people in charge disdain the military and do not understand it at all, and the sense that the politicians salivate at the chance of fulfilling their ‘American troops are murderers’ fantasy by charging soldiers for war crimes on thin evidence in very complex situations while hamstring soldiers in the field with highly restrictive ROE (’cause otherwise we’d be massacring civilians I guess)
I think Obama has already anticipated that, and that is precisely what he wants. First he’s gutting our arsenal, it’s not like he is doing anything to HELP keep morale up or anything of that sort.
But, then, as a socialist what do you expect from him? He’ll push this as long as he can because he doesn’t WANT us to really win, he wants to cripple us completely... JMHO, of course.
