'Time to Ask Why Most State Attorneys General are AWOL on ACORN
Christian Newswire ^ | September 16, 2009 | Kimber Abbott

Mark Fitzgibbons, President of Corporate and Legal Affairs of American Target Advertising, Inc., Manassas, Virginia, issued the following statement regarding the failure of state attorneys general to take action against ACORN:

"Despite years of warning signs about voter fraud, embezzlement and other potentially criminal behavior by and within the Association for Community Organizing and Reform Now (ACORN), only a handful of state attorneys general apparently didn't need to be embarrassed by recent alternative media reporting and videos before taking some action against ACORN. Most state attorneys general have sat by idly, perhaps for political reasons with a trail quite probably leading to Washington, while ACORN has been busy racking up unchecked legal offenses.

"State attorneys general long ago should have investigated ACORN, and enforced various state laws against it. State attorneys general claim to have unique regulatory and enforcement authority over nonprofit organizations. Along with other state charitable oversight officials that require nonprofits to file information purportedly to prevent violations of law, state attorneys general have unique access to information that could have been used to take action against ACORN. Were they asleep, derelict in their duty, or worse?

"The question must be asked: was their failure to act the result of direct and indirect political support of Democratic politicians by ACORN, its direct affiliates, and its indirect affiliates such as the Service Employees International Union (SEIU)?

"For example, the ACORN Financial Justice Center graded state attorneys general in 2008 on their work in the home foreclosure crisis, which many believe ACORN-supported policies helped create. Basing its grades on factors including endorsing Senator Chris Dodd's and other federal Democratic legislation, and using taxpayer funds to train pro bono lawyers, ACORN gave grades of A+ only to Democratic attorneys general. The list of ACORN's A+ attorneys general by state: Richard Blumenthal (Connecticut), Martha Coakely (Massachusetts), Andrew Cuomo (New York), Lisa Madigan (Illinois), Tom Miller (Iowa), and Lori Swanson (Minnesota).

"Perhaps its time to investigate and review why so many state attorneys general failed to act, or act sooner, against ACORN. Attorneys general should begin by disclosing contributions received from, state taxpayer funding for, and attorneys' general ties, meetings and financial affiliations with, ACORN and its vast network."

Complete lack of backbone.

All the more reason for “real people” to run for office, serve one or two terms, then go back to their jobs. Professional politicians have brought us to the edge of ruin.

Have you checked out GOOOH?

That is exactly what their plan entails. Of course bugs need to be worked out, but it is a concept worth considering.

You know that game where people put their finger over their nose to indicate ‘not me’? Well, that’s pretty much how the eligibility cases have gone thus far. Court? No, have to go to Congress. Congress? No, have to go the electoral college. Electoral College? No, it was up to the Sec. of States/DNC.

Anyhoo, there is a sliver of light showing under a heavy door. Folks are working hard to pry it open.

Exactly! Similar to the BC issue PRIOR to the election and coronation.

What? The Constitution does not bar anyone from running for president -- wait til he has the nomination.

Well, the nomination has nothing to do with the NBC clause -- he has to win the election.

Okay, sure he won the election, but the electors haven't voted yet -- wait til then.

Yikes, the electors voted and he is now the usurper-elect -- well CONgre$$ will never certify the electoral college votes, just wait.

OMG! CONgre$$ certified the electoral college without any objections -- just hang on, SCOTUS will hear one of the MANY cases about his eligibility before the coronation.

1-20-09 DOOMED: The king is coronated and within 5 minutes begins to destroy America!

So it would appear that we have 50 SoStates, 538 electors, 536 members of CONgre$$, 9 Supremes and let's throw in the 3 heads of the DNC (Dean-Reid-Pelousy) that have committed a criminal act against the citizens of the USA, yet not one of said citizens has standing to oppose this national disgrace!

1136 people have defrauded over 300,000,000 and there have been no riots in the streets.

“1136 people have defrauded over 300,000,000 and there have been no riots in the streets.”

Give’m time. Although the real crowd size at the 9/12 event was not well publicized, the PTB know the score. They also know attendees weren’t paid to show up. Nor are they the ‘type’ to get out and march. Really, its’ a bit of a miracle and testimony of how absolutely pissed-off [and worried sick] so many Americans are right now.

All Obama’s meddling, dithering, lying, hypocrisy, etc. cannot remain hidden and is slowly working its way to the surface. If that many showed up in August/September, it does NOT bode well for this administration as more revelations occur.

If we manage to get past October 15 without a health care bill, the chances of it passing diminish with the expiration of the reconciliation rule. [Crosses fingers]

To me the critical part is to continue the pressure on a daily basis. Posting on news sites, attending media protests, calling/emailing/faxing local/state/federal officials, including AG’s.

IMO, that’s why we keep getting the message to be ‘civil’, but it really seems like what they are saying is ‘shut up.’
Muting the messenger will result in the statists saying, ‘see...no complaints.’ In fact, Maryland’s AG a couple days ago used just that argument for not investigating. Then TSHTF and he had to reverse himself.

Whew. Loads of words, but I really believe we are in an existential fight for this country and constitution.

Here is a recent article I found that actually does some digging on the criminals: Video controversy doesn't deter St. Louis ACORN office ACORN formed in 1970 in Arkansas, offering clothing and furniture to welfare recipients. The group's first political efforts focused on elections in Little Rock. By 1978, ACORN had a national presence. Arkansas...seems to me that state has another criminal connection, no? IIRC, that criminal also soiled the People's House.

I'll include that, too. I seem to recall Hillarrheah! was involved in ACORN's formation. Den of thieves.
