A few of us have always wondered, for a variety of reasons,
if Barry’s real heritage was Indonesian American rather than African American.
If we had been told from the beginning that he was part Indonesian-I think we would have accepted that.
The people of Indonesia can be light skinned or dark, with Asian features or African features, straight hair or frizzy hair.
One of our posters on the thread a few months ago, was a portrait painter and believed from his features, that he definitely could be Indonesian American.
A young Indonesian who looks very much like Barry, has been filming commercials as Barry’s doppelganger.
His mother’s affinity has always been to Indonesia and not Africa.
Could Lolo or some other Indonesian have been his biological father ,but, for whatever reasons, the mother made a quid pro quo with BO1 to claim paternity ?
BO1 gave an interview to the Honolulu Star after his graduation from the U of Hawaii and
never mentioned in the fairly lengthy interview-a wife or baby.
Barry , as far as we can tell, did not associate with blacks until he moved to NYC.
His college roommates and associates at Occidental in LA and later in NYC were Pakistani Muslims.
He did not go to Africa for Spring break, but, Pakistan and India.
Michelle and he moved to Indonesia in the early 1990s “ for several months “ to find a quiet place without phones for Barry to finish his book.
They could have just as easily moved to Africa.
Maybe his disdain for his African relatives is because he knows they are not really kin.
OTOH-somebody posted a video of Barry morphing into Malcolm X that was pretty convincing.
The guy is dishonest and cagey and a chameleon- I would put nothing past him.
