This is absurd. I was raised to say yes ma’am and yes sir. I raised my daughter to do the same. I have raised my grandson to do the same.I would love to tangle with this teacher.They would have to find the blueprints to put this school back together.

What’s this business these days of finding the term “Ma’am” to be offensive? First Barbara Boxer and now this mess. What in the hell are you SUPPOSED to call a woman of higher caste than you if not Ma’am?

I was raised the same way also—S.Ky...It was the respectful way to address our elders. When did all that Change??? (Oh Lord, how I hate that word “change”!—Sorry.)
