[Mining Minister Rodolfo] Sanz dismissed suggestions that Venezuela could aid Iran with its nuclear program, saying Venezuela is only aiming to develop nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

Really? Israel is going to need to refuel those jets a couple of times to reach Caracas.

There have been scattered news reports going back 4 to 5 years stating that deposits inside Venezuela were already being mined in remote areas and then airlifted to Iran

A google search should bring those up

"There have been scattered news reports going back 4 to 5 years stating that deposits inside Venezuela were already being mined in remote areas and then airlifted to Iran"

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense when Iran has developed uranium mines, enough to supply it's needs for the short term.
Besides, development of a uranium mine in Venezuela would had to have begun years before Hugo was even in the picture, and making friends with Islamowackos.

Surely the Bush admin would have at least mentioned something about it.

If Iran needed to import uranium, it makes more sense that they would get it from another nearby Islamic country full of Jihadist nuts, with access to it and other nuclear technology, and an established smuggling ring- namely Paki-Stan, which Bush shut down when he first took office, although you never heard much about it from MSM at the time.

I don’t think it has anything to do with nukes in Iran. I think it has everything to do with nukes in Venezuela. It would be an Islamofascist dream to have a nuclear buddy in striking distance of the continental U.S.

Israel Ties 2 Nations to Iran’s Uranium

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: May 25, 2009

JERUSALEM (AP) — Venezuela and Bolivia are supplying Iran with uranium for its nuclear program, according to a secret Israeli government report obtained Monday by The Associated Press.

The two South American countries are known to have close ties with Iran, but this is the first allegation that they are involved in the development of Iran’s nuclear program, considered a strategic threat by Israel.

With Obama in office, our enemies will not even bother to hide their war apparatus anymore.

I expect that if they haven’t done it already the administration will threaten to cut off military supplies to Israel if they take action against Iran. I don’t believe that the anti-semitism of this administration has any bounds. They will force Israel into the sea if they can. Thank God for BiBi. Imagine what Israel would give up under U.S. pressure with Ehud Barack in charge.

I love how everyone with an abundance of oil is hellbent on using nuclear energy “for peaceful purposes” (right) and we can’t seem to use it at all.

That's because you are not a liberal, and therefore do not have the humiliation of the United States as the goal of everything you think. That's what was so funny about Obama's speech to the Evil Dictator's Club the other day. They all applauded him and slapped him on the back, then laughed their arses of at the idea of the most powerful man in the world doing everything he can to humble his country.

I didn't know that story. I had to look it up.

Venezuela strikes £500m deal to buy Russian submarines

I'll start to worry more if they buy more modern boats like the Kilos.

I’m starting to think that Archie Bunker was right. Give everyone on an airplane a gun so if a hijacker gets on everyone else will shoot him. Let’s give everyone a bomb so if someone goes nuts with theirs’, their neighbors will blow ‘em all to heck.

CHINA STARTS OIL DRILLING OFF FLORIDA

By Mike Blair While Washington dithers over exploiting oil and gas reserves off the coast of Florida, China has seized the opportunity to gobble up these deposits, which run throughout Latin America, the Caribbean and along the U.S. Gulf coast.

The Chinese have forged a deal with Cuban leader Fidel Castro to explore and tap into massive oil reserves almost within sight of Key West, Florida. At the same time, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who controls the largest oil reserves in the Western Hemisphere, is making deals to sell his countrys oil to China, oil that is currently coming to the United States.

Meanwhile, a new left-wing populist regime in Bolivia has nationalized the natural gas industry, threatening to cut off supplies to the United States. . There are new reports out circulating that Chinese firms are planning to slant drill off the Cuban coast near the Florida Straits, tapping into U.S. oil reserves that are estimated at 4.6 billion to 9.3 billion barrels. This compares with 4 billion to 10 billion barrels believed to be beneath the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge, where drilling is held up in Congress due to the objections of environmental groups which warn of endangering caribou. Permission to drill in the refuge, which experts are certain will not present any environmental hazard, has failed by just two votes in the Senate.

As Chinese business increases its reach around the world, it is seeking oil, which it lacks domestically. After elections in Mexico in early July, when a new regime hostile to Washington is expected to take power, the United States might be without supplies of Mexican crude oil. The United States gets about 40 percent of its imported oil from Mexico and Venezuela.

China is eager to tap into oil reserves in the Florida Straits and then make a deal with Castro to control it. The Chinese have already reopened an abandoned Russian oil refinery in Cuba. Much of the gas refined there is believed to be destined for Freeport in the Bahamas, where the Chinese, through front company Hutchison-Whampoa, has developed a massive port facility and airfield.

With the refinery reopened and expanded it will also meet the needs of Castro. Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) has introduced legislation to ease U.S. restrictions that prevent dealing with Cuba to drill in the Florida Straits. It is hoped that Florida regulations that prevent U.S. oil drilling off the states coasts could also be eased. The irony is that Chinese drilling could be even more of an environmental hazard since China is not as concerned about or equipped to deal with any potential ecological disaster as a result of a spill, said Craig.
